Misc Do DS games use the 3DS' wifi capability when using wifi?

Just wondering, have not got my R4 card yet and wondered if I can use the great new wifi connection settings on my old DS games (Such as mario kart)

Nope, the wifi security is within the game code sadly.

That actually sucks so bad, the old wifi system is the worst.

DSi enhanced games can, e.g pokemon black and white 1 & 2
DS games cannot

But the games won't run in enhanced mode on a flashcard, so it's still crappy

So black 2 and white 2 cannot be used on the 3DS as roms? As I know 3DS dont work but im guessing DSi wont either.

no as the only flashcart that can do DSi Mode is blocked on 3ds and the roms r dumped missing the DSi data

Also the iEvolution doesn't even HAVE WiFi ability in DSi-mode, so even if it was still working you can't use WPA on DSi-enhanced games.

Yeah it sucks that Nintendo always does direct compatibility without any benifits that are possible.
Technically it would not have been that big a problem to let the 3DS use WPA2 in DS mode. I.e. a bit of firmware running "around" the DS mode could repackage the packages with the better encryption or methods like that.
Hmm when I think about it, depending on how the 3DS hardware works in DS mode, maybe something like this could be done in homebrew when the 3DS is hacked. There is not enough public knowledge about the inner workings of the 3DS at the moment, but it is possible something like that could be done a software.
