So the first USB we bought to load our wii backups was bought on impulse. After checking the GBA Temp compatibility guide because of loading/transfer issues, we found out it was one that was reported to not work properly.
So we scoured through the GBA Temp compatibility list and got the Kingston 64gb from that list. We followed the recommendation to format it with WBFS manager but this one seems to be doing worse than the one before.
After a LOT of messing around with IOS' and loaders we managed to get a single game on the USB to start (all others would just display a black channel screen). But after getting past the channel screen that game will always black screen. The furthest we ever got was Monster Hunter Tri checking system memory.

Before anyone recommends using the Softmod any wii guide to check we have the most up to date IOS' etc or Modmii. We used both.

Still can't get the games on this new USB to boot properly

what usb loader are you trying and how are you installing your games ?

I have CFG v70 using 249, USB loader GX 3.0 and Wiiflow. Using WBFS Manager because the usb compatibilty list said this particular usb stick works after being formatted with WBFS manager.

No wii flow thinks that Monster Hunter is still on there (first game i put on this USB, one of the first ones to even show a channel screen/boot). Not sure why.
go to the home icon and press rebuild cache and see what that does

hmm that made the two games I put on there show up but i still get a black screen when booting DKCR and Rayman Origins just crashes the system in general.

Now that you mention it, I didn't know Kingston made hard drives. Flash drives, but not hard drives.

Can you use a PC to check its S.M.A.R.T. data?
I should probably mention it is a flash drive. It's the 64gb Kingston Flash Drive from the gbatemp compatibility list.

Did you try defragmenting the files? (If still using WBFS, switch to FAT32)

NOTE: I DO NOT MEAN DEFRAGGING THE WHOLE DRIVE. The loader may just have issues with breaks in the middle of the game files.

How can I defrag specific files? Sorry if I sound like a noob.

Any decent defrag program can do it (i.e. not Windows' built-in crap)

If you need a specific recommendation, I use Auslogics Disk Defrag both for single files and my whole hard drive.

Apparently the drive and it's files are not fragmented.

It's probably worth mentioning that if I copy more than one game, every game besides the first corrupts.

It sounds like your flash drive is faulty.
That's what I thought which is odd because as far as I know it's brand new.
If this is the case, is there a particular usb hard drive you'd recommend? I aren't looking for a a really large sized one (mostly because of the price).
