Started a new game today, everything seemed normal until the cut scene with Link and the drawbridge at the start: specifically, Link had his sword.
It'd been a while since a I'd played so I just thought it was normal until Link wake up and this happened.

Nothing in my inventory, either.
I bought a shield to see if I could get to the deku tree, but...

What do you reckon, GBATemp? Save corruption is fun, right? Oh, yeah, I saved and quit and loaded the game again and the sword was still there, so. Interesting.

Sounds like you did the following Glitch by accident. I would go and try getting the sword from the chest in the training grounds like normal, then it should appear in your inventory and you should be able to continue the game normally.

Its the "new game plus" gltich, where you go on epona, save and quit. and then start a new game right away. Depedning on the item you equip you will get different results. I'm pretty sure if you just get the kokri sword, it would overide whatever item you started with.

I actually found a glitch on my friend's copy of the game.

I was fiddling around on one of their unfinished files and decided to go win Epona for them. I started the race and got a call on my phone. 20 seconds later I realize I hadn't paused when I stopped playing to answer the phone, and go to finish the race. However, Ingo was gone. I was way behind and should've lost, but Ingo had disappeared and the game let me win!

I tried doing the same thing on the second race, with my friend watching, and it worked again. It was just so baffling until I looked it up and found out it's a legitimate, exploitable glitch.

I Have a Video of that, I discover this glitch time ago...

this trick works on both races

It's the same sound, both in japanese.
Were you listening to the japanese pronunciation(left) or the english one(right)?

Yeah, I removed the post as I listened to the wrong side like an Idiot.
If it helps at all, my step-dad (who was an exchange student in japan) said the Japanese pronunciation was correct... :P
