Guys, calm down. There is going to be no war with North Korea.

North Korea is insane, sure, but they're not stupid. They know that while they could level some serious damage against South Korea, they'd have no chance of winning an actual war with the United States. If they attacked us (nuclear weapon or otherwise) and we retaliated, even China (their only ally at this point, and it's a damn tenuous alliance) would likely stay out of it.

What we're seeing here is little more than saber rattling. They act belligerent on the world stage, intimidating everyone as best they can, and then call it a day, patting themselves on the back a little. Lather, rinse, repeat.

North Korea is basically exactly where it wants to be right now - its people may be starving, but the leaders are wealthy enough for their own tastes. China reluctantly backs them up because it creates distance between them and the US-friendly South Korea. The rest of the world can't do anything because if anyone were to try, much of South Korea would be devastated by vicious artillery bombings - and there's always the remote threat of China getting dragged into the whole mess at the back of everyone's mind. They're not going to make any serious moves that would threaten this delicate balance.

Ignore the sensationalist headlines. North Korea desperately wants attention now - don't give them the validation. Keep calm. We're not going to war.

Along with the above, you also have to account for suicidal war: if the country feels threatened and its leaders with enough power, prepare to see everything burn to ash if they're going down.

People learn stupid thing; the next thing to do is not to disregard them, but keep the stupidity from igniting into fiery destruction. For all things.

Y'all are forgetting the North Korean leader is insane. You can't negotiate with people like that theres no coming to terms or peace offers. North Korea knows they will parish in a war with the USA but they will go out killing as many Americans as possible. So i think this is something to worry about not just for Americans but Canadians as well 90% of are population is on the US border, o ya and i guess Mexico to.
