Road posted this very interesting "rumor" posted by a user with a previous track record of leaking MH3G on the 3DS. This was buried in one of the Media Create Threads but a lot of users missed this and decided that this is very interesting news in its own respect

Apparently the original source for the DQ7 rumor: http://club.tgfcer.com/thread-6398778-1-1.html

1. 7th entry of a famous RPG for the 3DS.
2. 3DS revision.
3. Something about a contract between Nintendo and Capcom saying no MH on other handheld systems for 3 years.

Also, this was in 2010 from the same person: http://club.tgfcer.com/viewthread.php?tid=6266776

- Rumor about MH3 on the 3DS.

This points back to 2010 and 2011 where a number of this sources rumours did become true like DQ7, 3DS revision and the enhanced 3DS monster hunter prediction. Unlike another source which states MH4 was delayed so that a PSvita version is coming that has zero rumours ever turning out to be true.

3 years enough to make the PS VITA irrelevant in Japanese market, it already is factually. :P

HA! In no way I am against Sony but their fanboys really deserve this if it's true. Karma, if you ask me :P They only trash talk Nintendo consoles and now Nintendo gets 3 years of their beloved exclusive, buuuurn! XD

EDIT: Coming from Capcom replying to MH4 Vita rumor:
"I would not believe everything you read on the internet. It will set you up for disappointment or misdirected frustration. - Christian Svensson, Capcom"

Now that makes a lot of more sense, I had a chat with guild about this earlier, that MH doesn't fit for a multiplat release in Japan because the game is focused on local multiplayer.
But by keeping a gap between releases means that people don't have to decide which one to get in the beginning, the 3DS version being the obvious choice in Japan. The rumor was that the delay for MH4 was because of the Vita version which implied a simultaneous release. The Vita version would have bombed, people would get the version their friends have in order to play against each other, online isn't a big thing for MH.

However a version coming a few years later would make it an easy transition for the MH audience. Everyone would get the game on the platform it's exclusive to, of course the game would have to be upgraded in order to make it a worthwhile purchase.

Can we lay the MH4 Vita rumour to rest already
Kotaku are already dumbasses for reporting GameLabs shit, and the whole thing was hogwash from the start given Capcom's publishing history on the Vita, but now...

Personally I'm amazed at how well MH does. Genuinely one of the most mind numbing games I've ever played because of all the collecting materials and not so stellar combat.

it's just really in in japan, they love that gameplay. isn't it basically the one game that made the psp not fail entirely?

Don't know the exact numbers, but the PSP did sell well in Japan partly due to MH. On a global scale, I think that wasn't the system seller. It's sold around 60 million outside of Japan according to Wikipedia (can't bother to get better or more specific stats).

OT: This could be big in Japan, but the rest of the world will have to wait for possibly years for the translations and releases outside of Japan. As for the console, I wouldn't mind, but I'd rather had had it on the PSVita just for the sake of no region lock for those people who would have wanted to import it. Region locking is a pain in this case.

I love it, and don't find it that terribly mind numbing, compare to say, most modern shooters and RPG's these days (coming from someone who'd play every damn RPG that came out.) Meh meh tweaks their own.

if it's karma to not get a shitty game on the Vita, then damn I like that karma.

If this is true... Vita is fucked! All the more reason why the Vita needs to be bundled with PS3 or the Quatro.

Man if I see you suggesting the PS4 be bundled with the vita one more time i'mma beat you upside the head with mine.

I'm surprised at all the MH haters, lol. It's not enough that they don't like it, but that it has to be called "shitty" and whatnot, when clearly millions think otherwise. But to each his own. I personally think otherwise though.

Anyways, what I am not surprised at is the Nintendo-Capcom exclusivity. The idea popped up in my head the day 3G was announced for the 3DS, and pretty much cemented itself when MH4 was announced as an exclusive.

In fairness millions think Coldplay are good. Does that make Coldplay a good band? Of course not! Coldplay are fucking dreadful.

Did not enjoy MH on the PSP in any way, hyped for the 3DS iteration though.

I usually enjoy games on Nintendo Systems more.
