Nah, those are different. This game is basically all about the mystery, puzzles and story. Replay it and you lose the mystery, you know the story and you can solve all the puzzles (with a few exceptions; dice can burn in hell). Most of the games you listed have some action gameplay that can be just fun to do.

Well in all honesty, it's more opinion than fact.

I got Phi's ending in the early hours of today and have done the last few bits and bobs (gold files and arhives completion) to unlock the final ending and all I can say is this,

FUCK THIS WAS GOOD!

Best game I've played on my 3DS so far, I felt the game's overarching story showed great ambition and they succeeded greatly. Not many games actually have me thinking about them when I'm not playing them. But VLR really did, I was on the tube this morning and and was making sense of everything that had happened. VLR is the most intelligent game I've played for a while and this along with Catherine are so refreshing in the modern video game industry.

I guess it was worth the £22.50 I spent on it.

So pretty much like a mystery novel, I guess? It's a visual novel type of game after all! And yet there are people who may reread a good book or story several times if they really liked it.

Personally I have a different problem though: I have more games than I have time for playing through them! So game replayability is never really something that I worry about in a game...

Huge twist eh?

I'm really confused. A little help guys?
By looking at the flowchart. There are 2 paths still to finish. One splits off giving 2 ending whilst the other one is a single ending.
The 2 parts I'm stuck at are: Crew Quarters - Deactivate bomb number 3 and Director's office Solve the mystery of the two-headed lion!.
Can you guys explain what the hell I'm meant to do?

Edit: I miswrote the bomb number 3 code so that was an accident as is fixed now. Playing that path. Perhaps the two headed lion answer is there?

look in the flowchart for Left telling you the password for the number 3 bomb, and for the two headed lion, what is that ladies name?

The ladies name is X Kurashiki. Presumably Akane Kurashiki. What has that got to do with the username and password though? Also, I already got the number 3 bomb deactivated, I edited my previous post.
@Seaking I got it, although it had nothing to with Kurashiki or Jumpydoll. That's probably needed afterwards.

opps, my bad, thats for...something else. the golem, look at him. why did you not need the other letters from the eyes?[

Amazing game.

My question to all who have finished it:
Who's conciousness was inhabiting Kyle's body? It obviously wasn't answered so it's open to speculation 'til virtues last reward 2 comes out.

Wasn't it Sigma, or Zero? Yeah, at the end everything was getting way too confusing.

Seems they were implying that it's a completely different person/being specifically a "4th dimensional being".
To add, it can't have been Sigma because Akane had mentioned that this person would have to help Sigma and Phi. Seeing as you can't have 2 bodies of one person in a timeline, Zero can't be the person as Zero is just older Sigma. These games (999 + VLR) can be looked at in two ways, wrapped up and finished by the writers or majorly analysed. The second choice can get you stuck as you never truly know the answer to the game.

I read someone somewhere comment that it might be you/"the player", but I'm not sure if that would make any kind of sense either. :P

Who is that? I finished the game, but I don't seem to remember that...
Unless you mean the person in K's armor when it's not Akane, but I'm pretty sure that's just a clone of Sigma who is unrelated to the whole consciousness through time thing.

Its an ending you get when you get all the arhives:

The path opens underneath Phi's route which the game doesn't notify you of

I had all the archives and I did get an "End or Beginning" end, I think. Lemme grab the game and check.
Edit: Damn, you were right. I have it unlocked, but I never noticed. Going to read it now.
...Okay, I read it, and now I have no fucking clue what happened anymore. At least I sort of understood it before that...

It's not when you get all the archives. It's just completing each escape room on hard difficulty. If completed on easy, all one must do is open the safe in Hard difficulty.

First, let me just say the ending was the biggest mindfuck of any game I ever played (in a good way). I'm surprised how many questions I had in the beginning and how much I assumed, and how wrong I was. I loved the story, and honestly, best game on my 3DS atm...

But the ending was really confusing, they kept talking about the past, present, unable to go all the way back, etc... I'm probably going to have to replay it to understand what happened :-P

I have just noticed something interesting, but I haven't got up to that point in the full game so I can't confirm it yet. I think Nintendo may have fixed some of the freezing bugs in the latest update they released, because today I tried to replicate the freeze in the room with the poster you scratch with a coin and the game didn't crash. I've tried it like 3 times and nothing strange has happened. As soon I advance further in the game (I've just started, I got it for Christmas) I'll tell you, but at least in the demo it's been fixed.
