One of the games that i loved on the PS2 are Persona 3/4, Kingdom hearts , FFX and on the Wii Mario Kart and Rune Factory.

as RPG, like FFX: Rogue Galaxy, Dragon Quest 8, Star Ocean 3 (though, it's the final episode of the series), Shadow hearts series, suikoden series, Tales of Legendia/abyss, Wild Arms 3, Xenosaga. Maybe Romancing SaGa (but it's more open world than linear RPG)

More action games maybe? Valkyrie profile2 (it's the prequel), Odin Sphere, Okami, Zone of the Enders?
it's only a few, I don't know your taste based on the few titles you gave :P

I recommend The Last Story and Xenoblade Chronicles for the Wii. I can't think of any RPGs for the PS2 that hasn't already been mentioned unless you like strategy games.

Yes, it's pretty good though only two bad things. The horrifically low steal rate (like 1% chance of stealing from an enemy, at best) and that it is slow as hell unless you are using hdloader/openps2loader to run it from an internal IDE hard drive.

Lack of Resident Evil 4 and Shadow of the Colossus make this thread suck.

Make sure to choose the Wii Resident Evil 4 though. I think it's just a straight port of the Gamecube one (which looks better graphically) with the PS2 content and the motion/pointer controls (and the pointer aiming is a lot better).

There's a saddening lack of Viewtiful Joe, Jak & Daxter trilogy, Ratchet & Clank trilogy, God of War (the original, wasn't a huge fan of the sequel), Timesplitters 2 + Future Perfect, Soul Calibur 2 + 3, and Okami up in here.

On the PS2 the list is immense.... pick a genre and I can name at least a couple of fantastic games.

But some of my favorites!

Dragon quest VIII Journey of the cursed king.
Gran Turismo 3 and 4
Tekken (ALL of them.)
Katamari 1 and 2
King's Field The Ancient City (This one might be tough to find... and the book for it is also hard to find, expect to pay out the nose.... http://www.amazon.com/Kings-Field-Ancient-City-Playstation-2/dp/B00006599W )
Twisted Metal Black

Just so many greats on the PS2!

On the Wii there is less but some awesome games on it non the less.
Kororinpa Marble Mania, if you like puzzle games. This one makes fantastic use of motion controls.
WarioWare Smooth moves!!!
Excite Truck gets a vote from me. (I didn't really care for excite bots even though everyone else says its the better of the two.)
New Super Mario bros (If you don't like 2D platformers you might not like it.)
Resident Evil 4 (It's also on the PS2 and it is awesome but the Wii's controls actually make it even better. I might also mention its really the only RE game I like... lol)

I could go on all day about the two systems, but this list alone would keep some one busy for at least a month even if you played 24/7.

Edit: About the Kings Field strategy guide, I would say it is almost required to play the game. That or expect to be visiting Youtube and Google allot to find out "What the hell, how can I get past this part?"
