Here's something we didn't know. The Wii U Gamepad supports 3D.

It's not the same 3D you'll be used to from playing the Nintendo 3DS, but rather the sort which requires you to use green and magenta 3D glasses.

Apparently the 3D factor can be activated at any time during gameplay by going into the options and changing the 3D settings at "Sterescopy" and, right under, "3D Strength". The stereoscopy can be changed from Off, to Inficolor, to Side By Side or Top Bottom. Also, the 3D strength can be measured from 0 to 10, depending on your visual comfort.

The first game known to support this 3D feature is Assassin's Creed III. The same game also allows you to play the entire game on the Gamepad if you wish to do so.

This most likely also means the WiiU supports 3D on 3D Tv's Also :D

This is 100% non news. Its a colour screen of course it will support anaglyph 3d the same way every colour screen ever has been able to. *sigh*

The Wii U can indeed use 3D Tv's Stereoscopic 3D, the same as BLURAY and PS3/360.

Batman and Assassins Creed III use this.

Granted, this is stereo3D support is on a system level for a 2D screen. How many 2D consoles/handhelds out there even have the support for something like this? None.

This makes me think though... 3DS games on the WiiU? Unlikely, but... well, it's there.

Maybe the feature that Nintendo has planned with the 3DS Wii-U interactivity? Use the 3DS with a CPP to make a second controller for the Wii-U?

Yeah but this depends on the software, not on the hardware. If the developers decide so, they could bring this kind of 3D to almost every game on every hardware.

However, the software behind it also has to be there. Yes any colour screen can do anaglyph, but I know of NO game systems that allow you to enable anaglyph 3D on any game, sure there are a handful of individual games on PC etc.
So it actually IS news.

This is ACIII only, not a global option. And since we already knew that the Wii U supports 3DTV's this isn't news really. But I'm not complaining, this isn't the USN and there are members out there who doesn't know this.
