It seems Capcom is not finished with the Mega Man franchise yet. In an interview with Nintendo Power, Capcom USA CEO Christian Svensson had this to say about Mega Man's future.

I can say with certainty that you've not seen the last of the Blue Bomber on consoles and handhelds, and, with luck, we'll be celebrating his 50th anniversary, including all of the games you're going to enjoy over the next 25 years. That said, an issue we've had in the past has been talking about games and announcing them before we're certain they're going to com out, which unfortunately has lead to profound disappointment for many fans. So for now, I'm going to have to stay mum about any details.

Not buying it. Fuck you, Capcom.

And like the battered housewife, Mega Mans everywhere will stay loyal, clinging on to every last shred of hope.

Despite only really enjoying the "classic" mega man, I'm sure capcom will return to it eventually, it is not like anyone just gives up on a successful franchise.

bring me a BN title and we'll talk.... Ryuusei was the better story (ultimatevly....), however BN had the better gameplay...

Anniversary... I like that word.

And while your at it Capcom: force/ask that Ryuusei Anime Music Composer (Shuhei Naruse) to release both OSTS !

a good 3d platformer would be nice

I dunno...x7 tried 3d and it came out shitty smelling, as for Legends, having not played it I was always under the impression that was more of a 3d adventure than platformer

In all fairness, what sounds more believable.
Capcom decides to abandon the long running fan favorite cashcow IP that is Mega Man.
Or
Capcom decides to continue milking Mega Man for all it's worth.

Now whether anything good comes out of it is an entirely different matter, ahaha.

It's Capcom. Knowing them they likely gave the IP to a third party developer to "reboot" the series. Similar to the current DmC.

Yeah, Mega Man is fucked.

now he says it Capcom have been keen to throw that horrible boxart Mega Man around latley...holy shit Capcom are rebooting Mega Man as a serious toned third person shooter aren't they?

I should hope not that we haven't seen the last of mega man. That would be incredibly stupid on their part. If they were going to get rid of Mega Man, might as well get rid of Street Fighter and Resident Evil.

please be megaman legends 3 for 3DS or Wii u. :ninja:

Things more likely than that happening:
  • Hell freezing over
  • Poketards not being fucking retards
  • Valwin becoming literate
  • Guild and Soulsnatcher being civil to each other on a regular basis
  • Me not being black
  • Gahars unable to make a pun
  • Zombie apocalypse
  • The Vita having games
  • James Beattie scoring a a goal
  • haters stop hatin'
  • Anyone with a Naruto inspired username being a successful member of GBAtemp
  • Foxi not wanting to suck Guild's cock
  • Obama becoming a socialist
  • Birthers accepting their campaign against Obama is a tad based on racism
  • Guild not being an angry augmentative shit
  • Capcom not charging for on disc DLC
