This thread would be rife with Thanksgiving related puns but since a lot of GBAtempers live in dumb countries like "the UK" (whatever that place is), I'll omit them.

If I missed a game you really want coverage on then simply send your write up to me (via PM). If it's good enough and follows proper formatting I'll add it here with credit to you! Check the "Other Releases" section at the bottom to see what games I would want write ups for but am not all too qualified to do myself. You can also do write-ups for games I didn't even list. Sometimes things slip my eye.

From now on, I'm going to include a template for submissions. Simply fill in the template below and PM me.

Code:
[h]Game Name[/h]
[b]Platform:[/b]
[b]Developed by:[/b]
[b]Published by:[/b]
[b]Release date:[/b]
[b]Genre:[/b]
[b](your name here)'s Hype Level:[/b]
[b]GBAtemp Hype Level:[/b]

Insert box art here

[P]Write your thoughts on the game here.[/P]

Some rules and stuff.

- No flaming. If I list a game you don't like, too bad. If I don't, too bad.
- This is mainly North American releases, sorry. I'll, on occasion, do a European or Japanese release if it's big enough and not already out in America.
- If a game is already released in English and is being released again for another region, I won't bother adding it. Like say if Half Life 2: Episode 3 was out in America in April (it won't) and it came out in May in Europe, I won't list it for May. I'll also do the same if a game was released in English (aka Europe or America) and is being released in Japan.
- I get my dates from GameFaqs, Wikipedia, and IGN, so if a date is wrong don't blame me. You can, of course, point it out and ask me to fix it if you have the right date.

Wii U

Release date: November 18th (North America), November 30th (Europe, Australia)
My Hype Level: Not hyped
GBAtemp Hype Level: Erection mountain ready to erupt

250px-Wii_U_console_and_controller.jpg

What can be said about the Wii U that already hasn't? Well, not much, so I won't say a whole lot. Instead, I'll leave you to your own devices.

Also included on launch (of notable titles) is New Super Mario Bros. U, Zombi U, and Scribblenauts Unlimited. Most of the other titles I'll mention later on.

Paper Mario: Sticker Star

Platform: 3DS
Developed by: Intelligent Systems
Published by: Nintendo
Release date: November 11th (North America)
Genre: RPG
My Hype Level: Never really bothered with Paper Mario
GBAtemp Hype Level: Well it has Mario in the name...

PaperMarioStickerStar3DSBoxartFinalboxart_160h.jpg

I hate stickers. I honestly do. In fact I have a phobia of stickers. They disgust me and creep me out. So an entire game based on stickers is not my idea of fun. But regardless, I never really bothered with Paper Mario. I played the Wii game but that was really mediocre. I know it's not reflective of the entire series but it's my only experience with it. I have played SMRPG and the Mario and Luigi games but I didn't find those to be that good except for Bowser's Inside Story. So I really don't care much for this and when it comes to RPGs, I'm really quite picky.

Epic Mickey: The Power of Illusion

Platform: 3DS
Developed by: DreamRift
Published by: Disney Interactive Studios
Release date: November 18th (North America), November 22nd (Australia), November 23rd (Europe)
Genre: Platformer
My Hype Level: Don't really have interest
GBAtemp Hype Level: Getting some attention from olde timey gamers

Disney-Epic-Mickey-Power-of-Illusion_3DS_RPboxart_160h.jpg

This standalone spin off is 3DS exclusive and seems to run off the vibes of the older Castle of Illusion game which was apparently pretty good. It's now just a 2D, sprite-based platformer, much like its original. It's also developed by DreamRift, who made the very awesome Monster Tale on the DS. So if you enjoy platformers, this is probably worth checking out.

Call of Duty Black Ops: Declassified

Platform: Vita
Developed by: Nihilistic Software
Published by: Activision
Release date: November 13th (North America, Europe)
Genre: FPS
My Hype Level: Can't say this ever looked good
GBAtemp Hype Level: The same

Call-of-Duty-Black-Ops-Declassified_US_RPboxart_160h.jpg

Can't say this had any promise. Even before we had trailers, the idea of a portable CoD rendition just sounds like a bad idea. I have nothing against CoD but it's a "home game". You lock yourself in your basement and play it for several hours online. The single player is nice but not really the highlight of it, the series has no issue showing its muscle in the online arena. So condensing that into a handheld, even the Vita, is just a bad idea. Even worse, the developers have said they've abandoned the solid single player for multiplayer. First off, you should never basically say "We cut corners." Second off, the multiplayer is 4v4, on a system designed to be portable and most likely won't have a constant connection, and I'll be honest, no one will play this multiplayer over Blops II.

Save your money Vita users, especially at a ridiculous $50 pricetag.

Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale

Platform: Vita, Playstation 3
Developed by: Superbot Entertainment, Bluepoint Games
Published by: SCE
Release date: November 20th (North America), November 22nd (Australia), November 23rd (Europe)
Genre: Fighting
My Hype Level: I really think it's cool but I'm hesitant
GBAtemp Hype Level: BURN IT AT THE STAKE.

PlayStation-All-Stars-Battle-Royale_PSV_TEMPboxart_160h.jpg

Even from the outset of its announcement, the game has been garnering a lot of hate. Well, here at least. Personally, I don't care what it looks like, it looks like fun to me. A Sony crossover fighter has been something everybody who doesn't have a stick up their ass has wanted and we did get it. The devs seem to be taking a lot of time to promote the game and being very public about it (which is usually indicative of a lot of care and effort). It has a lot of new ideas going for it and the roster is pretty solid too. However, I'm a stickler for single player content, especially on the Vita, and I want to know there's something I can do on-the-go. If there is, it may be a full-price purchase, otherwise I'll wait until it's like $20.

Persona 4 Golden

Platform: Playstation Vita
Developed by: Atlus
Published by: Atlus
Release date: 11/20/12
Genre: RPG
Lurker 2's Hype Level: I guess if I had to give it a level, I say medium.
GBAtemp Hype Level: I would have to say low but I'm not entirely sure.

persona_4_goldenrpboxart_160h.jpg

Persona 4 Golden is a port of Persona 4, which was available on the PS2. The Vita release comes with additional difficulty settings, areas and cutscenes. The games location is the town called Inaba, where a mysterious channel airs on midnight. This "Midnight Channel" also supposedly shows your soulmate when there is a fog caused by rain but a murder also occurs when said conditions are meet. This game uses a classic turn based systems with social links that are present in previous games.

Ratchet & Clank Q Force

Platform: Playstation 3 & Playstation Vita
Developed by: Insomniac Games
Published by: SCEA
Release date: 11/28/12
Genre: Platformer
Lurker 2's Hype Level: Very high
GBAtemp Hype Level: I think low.

Ratchet-and-Clank-Full-Frontal-Assault_PS3DLboxart_160h.jpg

It is a Ratchet & Clank game said to have tower defense elements. I haven't read much about it besides that but at a $19.99 price point it will be a first day buy for me.

LittleBigPlanet Karting

Platform: Playstation 3
Developed by: United Front Games, Media Molecule
Published by: SCE
Release date: November 6th (North America), November 8th (Australia), November 9th (Europe), November 22nd (Japan)
Genre: Racing
My Hype Level: I completely forgot about this
GBAtemp's Hype Level: Eh?

LittleBigKarting_US_PS3_RPboxart_160h.jpg

I kinda completely forgot about this game. That being said, it also describes my feelings towards it. It's just not standout. I mean it's probably solid and being able to put kart racing and creation aspects together is really neat but it just feels like ModNation 2.0. Which they completely threw under the bus by the way. I don't play many kart racers either, especially not enough to really want to buy them frequently, so if it isn't Mario Kart or a true Crash Team Racing sequel, I won't bother.

Halo 4

Platform: Xbox 360
Developed by: 343 Industries
Published by: Microsoft Studios
Release date: November 6th (North America, Europe, Australia), November 8th (Japan)
Genre: FPS
My Hype Level: Eh, Reach was fun but not fun enough to buy this
GBAtemp Hype Level: Boo Halo sux

Halo-4_X360_US_ESRB-finalboxart_160h.jpg

Some of you are probably chuckling as this game was leaked eary October but for the non-Black Beard's Brigade part of the world, November 6th is its release date. Now, Halo 3 was the only game I actively fell asleep while playing, while I thought Halo Reach was pretty fun in multiplayer. The franchise as a whole has never really offended me, and I have no opposition to Halo 4, but I probably won't be buying it. It's nothing I've really been dying over.

Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing Transformed

Platform: Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Wii U, 3DS, Vita, PC
Developed by: Sumo Digital
Published by: Sega
Release date: November 15th (Australia), November 16th (Europe), November 18th (North America)
Genre: Racing
My Hype Level: YAY ANOTHER KART RACER
GBAtemp's Hype Level: ...Eh? Again?

Why is there so many kart racers this month? Well, who knows, but the second one up is the Sonic kart racing sequel. The first game wasn't bad, but it was forgettable. And for genres like kart racers, if you can't stand up to Mario Kart, there's almost no reason to play it. That sounds true here. Unless you're really dying for kart racing on your Vita that isn't ModNation Racers, I can't really suggest it.

Call of Duty: Black Ops II

CallofDutyBlackOpsIIXbox360boxart_160h.jpg

Platform: Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Wii U, PC
Developed by: Eurocom
Published by: Activision
Release date: November 13th (North America, Europe, Australia), November 22nd (Japan, subtitled version)
Genre: FPS
My Hype Level: Looks alright but I never really buy CoD
GBAtemp's Hype Level: Booooooooo

Now now now, everyone hates CoD, but I really don't have too much of an issue with it. This entry looks kinda cool too. It's set in a not-so-distant future and features a lot of the successors of the original cast of Black Ops. The first game was pretty solid, it had a pretty nice story actually and zombies was a treat. However, I usually really don't buy CoD since they're multiplayer geared and I can't say I really enjoy the multiplayer, but it should be an awesome entry for fans of the series.

Epic Mickey: The Power of Two

Platform: Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Wii U, Wii
Developed by: Junction Point Studios
Published by: Disney Interactive Studios
Release date: November 18th (North America), November 22nd (Australia), November 23rd (Europe)
Genre: Platformer
My Hype Level: The first game was really good
GBAtemp Hype Level: Maybe?

Disney-Epic-Mickey-2_RP_2d_X360boxart_160h.jpg

I really enjoyed the first Epic Mickey. A lot of people said it was really flawed but it did kinda give me that old time platformer feel. It had some interesting mechanics, a fantastic environment, and it was a pretty cool platformer that used its source material excellently. The sequel seems to improve upon the flaws of the first game and add co-op into the mix, but biggest of all its now multiplat. Definitely worth a try for me personally, but probably at a cheaper $20-$30 mark.

Hitman: Absolution

Platform: Xbox 360, Playstation 3, PC
Developed by: IO Interactive
Published by: Square Enix
Release date: November 20th (North America, Europe, Australia)
Genre: Stealth?
My Hype Level: Never played the franchise but I've been meaning to
GBAtemp Hype Level: Huh

Hitman-Absolution_US_RP_X360boxart_160h.jpg

I never really played Hitman but I've always wanted to. It sounds like a neat idea for an assassin game that doesn't involve parkour and instant kill chains like Assassin's Creed. I probably won't start here but I'll get around to it.

Other Releases

Most of these are titles I really don't know much about so write-ups are much appreciated
  • Lego Lord of the Rings: 11/13 (North America), 11/23 (Europe)
  • Wonderbook: Book of Spells: 11/13 (North America, 11/14 for Move pack), 11/15 (Australia), 11/16 (Europe)

That's why you don't like the series. The Wii game is the worst one.

Paper Mario: Sticker Star looks awesome, though.

Your really an idiot if you judge the original paper mario, a thousand year old door and sticker star on those games above. Each of those play entirely different from paper mario, TTYD and sticker star. You have yet to experience the true/original paper mario style of play.

I don't really dislike the series, I really don't think anything of it because I know the Wii one was bad and not reflective of the franchise but never cared to try the N64 one or the GC one. Most of my impressions are from M&L which I thought was kinda mediocre outside of BIS which was awesome.

EDIT: And is it November now for Adventure Time? I put it in last month's GotM but it got moved or something. I'll check again and if it is this month I'll do a proper right up.

Just my opinion, Paper Mario on N64 and GCN were basically more "basic" versions of M&L. I liked Paper Mario, but it played more like a straight Pokemon game (combat-wise), with very little action or personality. Sure, the humor and paper theme was cool, but I honestly think it just pales in comparison to M&L.

In other words, if you didn't care much for M&L, I doubt you'll care more for Paper Mario.

-WiiU: Day 1 - I`ll get it with Nintendo Land, ZombiU, MariU and maybe Blops2

-Paper Mario: Gotta get that game. Even though I think the Superstar games are a little bit better then the Paper games I enjoy these very very much! (Don`t really appreciate the Hype-annotation here though)

-Epic Mickey 3DS: The developer did some great games like Hatsworth so I`ll get this one at a later point when there aren`t as many good games released.

-Blops2: I´ll get this just for local multiplayer with my friends, though the campain of Blops1 was kinda fun as well for what it was...

-Epic Mickey 2: Definitely play this one. Loved the first one. I think I´ll stick to the Wii version because of pointer controls. The analoge-controls look atrocious from what I`ve seen in videos.

Busy month :D

Are the Rabbits games not included since they're possibly bad or are they usually just a mediocre casual game?

To be honest, I haven't played enough of the Paper Mario TTYD to speak too much about the Paper Mario series (only beat like half of it) but it was still good.

I have to disagree with you in that the M&L series is generally mediocre. Every single game in that series has been really fucking stellar. Even Partners in Time which was the worst one is still really good. The dialogue in the game is great, gameplay is good, visuals (dat sprite-work) are gorgeous. They're just really good RPGs with all the shitty parts about the genre taken out (grinding for example) and awesome elements put in (the ability to actually inflict damage while your opponent is attacking and not just stand there). The localization job is amazing too (I applaud NoA Treehouse).

In short, I absolutely adore the series.

I loved Super Star Saga, but it was hard for me to get into Partners in Time. Not because the story was boring or anything, but the battle system was complex to the point where (in battles where both the brothers and babies are present) it was less fun and more of a chore. But that's just how I see it.

I plan on actually buying the game soon (since I decided to give up pirating) and play through it again, though.

Personally, I enjoyed the extra complexity added to PiT with X/Y for the babies even if it did make battles more difficult. While it doesn't reach the calibre of Superstar Saga or even Bowser's Inside Story, it's definitely worth playing through.

(Like I said, the localization team is awesome).

But yeah, I concur, Superstar Saga is amazing.

Partners in Time was quite awful. Like I enjoy timing-based combat to an extent but it become so incredibly tedious that it was just fucking obnoxious.

I mean there's nothing terribly special about them. It's kinda like My First RPG as a series and I enjoy simplified stuff now and then (see: Pokemon) but I found it to get quite dull. BIS had some variety however between Mario and Luigi gameplay and Bowser gameplay.

The game's are cute but they're not funny to any Tobias Funke-level material. It may get a "that's cute" now and then but not a "HAH HAH SO WITTY AND CLEVER!"

It's not a bad series at all but it's completely forgettable. Maybe I'm just too hardcore and enjoy my gritty grim dark dracula black RPGs but it's not something that stands out at all.

I'm reading only your hype level and GBAtemp hype level, that's the best thing

I tried to play the new paper mario/partner in time etc.
But I never found the same feeling and interest as the original Mario RPG.

Paper Mario 1 & 2 are so much better than the first two Mario & Luigi games and hardly anything like Super Paper Mario.

This 3DS game doesn't look to meet the usual high quality of the proper PM games but no doubt it'll be pretty good and a lot better Super Mario RPG which for me is a very mediocre title.

I'm not really bothered about the other games, I was interested in Epic Mickey 3DS but it looks to have the same slow moving gameplay as the platformers it is inspired by. I'm surprised you didn't call this edition "Vita games that are likely to get mediocre to ok reviews", apart from upgraded 4 year old port of Persona 4, the rest look "bleh" at best.

I'll be doing a proper write up of all of the Wii U launch titles close to the launch, just like I used to. It'll make some people feel like it's 2009 again!

Personally I'm really looking forward to Fallblox/Crashmo, it's probably the only game I'll get this month.
The other releases on this list can wait.
