I'm thinking about getting the K1 GBA SP. But I think ordering it from the website is kinda "shady" cause when I put my information and was ready to order, the payment was asking me to send a Western Union Wired Payment. And since the product is from China, I think that I am gonna get ripped off and not get my product. So, I'm asking that if anybody ordered the K1 GBA SP and used this method of payment and actually got the k1 gba sp. and tell me if this is a rip off or not. Please and thank you if someones responds.
Guys, we got your email and reply your question. Kindly check for it.

Currently, we can accept payment via Paypal and western union. We also got some customers pay via western union. It is safe payment way. k1gba.com is a trusted seller. Thanks for your understanding.

Thank you for responding to my post, and if I decided to buy the K1 GBA SP with the western union, do I Confirm the order before sending out the wired payment or do I Confirm the order after I send in the payment and send an email?

I have problem backing up the save with * + START. Whenever I press this combination, I get the black screen and have to restart the K1. Something funny happens at this state, because I get corrupted files on the SD card. I will further test this. The SD card in question is 2 GB (real) Sandisk that works fine with everything I have tried (have used it for ages with my Acekard and R4).

Funny thing is, I have no such problem with * + L. The save is backed up just fine. Sadly, this workaround does not work for 32 MB cards.

Has anyone experienced the same problem?

ARRRGGh!
I was playing mmbn1
And I saw my battery was getting low So I just played a little more without saving, and then it turned off.
when I turn it back on my save file was DELETED!
How did that happen, I backed up to TF, and did not backup/save at all, when it was getting really low,
if their anyway to get the save file back?

Insert your SD on your Windows computer and repair the SD using chkdsk. The file placement might just be corrupted and chkdsk can fix it. You can also use one of many undelete programs, though I doubt there is any freely available.

@b4d4 do you have any issues with the start button not being responsive? also, when is the last time you did a reformat of your msd card using the panasonic formatter? if its a msd from a flash kit, then it probably is in need of a reformat. try that and see if it helps.

@[member='BOBdotEXE'], i do not fully understand what you are trying to say. are you saying that your k1 was really low on power so you turned it off, then after turning it back on you found that your previous game save was deleted?

I was playing, then the light turned red. then I saved and backed up to TF, then I continued to play without saving/backing up. eventually the screen began to dim, and eventually turned off.
and the power light turned off. I charged my k1, then booted it up, the only option on mmbn1 was 'new game', to I turned it off, and imported the save to Visual boy advance,
it read as a blank save file, I tested my megaman bn2 save (with my mmbn2 rom) and it loaded that one.

I'll try some data recovery programs, but i's probably been over written with this new blank save.

also on another note, has any one heard anything about a new firmware update?
or is most of the team working on the Revo K101?

Ok, after some more tests with mmbn1 and some other games.
Running down the battery, the save file was not deleted.

It must have been a freak thing.
From now on, I'll just back up (zip) the save files every week or so..

I would still like to know about firmware updates (discussed in my earlier post)

Also is an (k1) SDK available?
---
edit:
sound the firmware site:
http://kteam.ys168.com/

t
he tools section is empty, so I'm guessing no SDK yet.

It looks like a new Firmware is out(oct 10, 2012):
http://kteam.ys168.com/for both PID00610603, and PID00610601
Click ' Firmware Update' and 'K1-SP'

There is no change log, but I downloaded it and it seems to work ok.
I was running psn:120614 but now I'm on: 121021 !
I don't see any new menu entries, so I'm guessing this update contains bug fixes.

I totally want to get one and I probably will next month. It has awesome features. But i'm kind of disappointed that it doesn't support GameCube link and RTC for games like Pokemon. Is it possible to fix this through firmware updates or those are hardware issues? When will next K1 GBA SP revision be released? (in case that these are hardware issues).

No more next K1 GBA SP revision be released. The manufacture will not include RTC in it as there is no enough space for it. You can consider about Revo K101 if you want RTC.

Connectivity with the GameCube through the link cable, for games like Four Swords (Zelda).People say it doesn't work with K1 GBA SP so what i'm asking is, is it hardware or software related issue? Can it be fixed through a firmware update for K1?

Quick question:

What kind of emulators DOES this support ?
I haven't tried so far.

Also, except the form factor, does the new K101 (non SP design) have any advantages over this one [except formfactor] ?

@K3Nv2 Snow Day is pretty fun. My only bitch would be the camera controls, when you move around, say down, you have to move the right stick left or right to get camera to turn and get your view, other than that I like it so far.

From what people say pvp isn't even worth it
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I just been playing offline, and they give you a few bots here n there on your team to help battle. I don't think it's as funny as the other games tho, more battle oriented than humor, which kinda sucks, but I'm still early in it
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@BigOnYa, doesnt the game have a campaign mode?
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Yea, and co-op, but you can also start a pvp session and battle just with friends. You get special skill cards (powers) the more you play. And higher value cards, but you can only enable so many cards at a time.

Toilet paper is considered the money, you collect and buy stuff with TP, kinda funny. Graphics are def better than the other games tho, I think they used Unity 5 engine.

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, Many of them did before colour television was common.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Likely because black and white TV was in-expensive.

  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
It certainly wasn't inexpensive it cost the same as a new car back then
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
How much did a 1965 color TV cost?

For example, a 21-inch (diagonal) GE color television in 1965 had an advertised price of $499, which is equal to $4,724 in today's dollars, according to the federal government's inflation calculator.

@K3Nv2, take into consideration how economy was back then
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Yeah that's why they listed inflation rates
