Hey everyone! I'm proud to announce we have made our first ever release from Super Mario Galaxy 2.5:

You can download the level by clicking the link for the demo installer (or the direct download) in the description of the video below:

You may notice that the trailer feature custom models, a new feature for the hack. We're hoping that as the model importer becomes easier to use, everyone can start making their own Mario 3D levels.

Hope you guys enjoy, any and all feedback would be great! As always, if you want to help out with the project, you can join at SuperMarioGalaxy2-5.com :D.

Awesome, can't wait to try it out. I'm working on finishing up my weekly 3D project so... once I finish that I'll give it a go.

I'd love to play around with the importer. :D (Though I'd probably suck at level design)

EDIT: Blah! Just realized SMG2 is still at my girlfriend's house. >.

Is there any way to patch this manually without using Riivolution? I haven't seen my SMG 2 disc in about a year now - I keep my entire library on a usb drive. I'd be fine with just patching the .iso if I knew a way.

gotta says this is awesome
i got it working with uneek
cant wait for the final release
pm me for details of how i did it

#1 install game to SNEEK/UNEEK
#2 download the SMG2.5 files
#3 extract them into the gamefiles (overwrite all)
#4 go into SNEEK settings and select rebuild FST permanent
#5 done

You should be able to extract the ISO, overwrite the files and rebuild it to make it run without using NEEK. At least, that's my previous experience with Wii mods, so I assume it works for this game as well. There's some tools to do this, but I forgot which ones :')

A level editor should be great. Since you can import models, I suppose you can remake levels from Sunshine or 64 here.

But to be honest, the level design in the levels shown look really bland and boring. I hope that improves in the final release.

People have either been saying they love the level design or hate the level design. The majority of these levels were made without a design as model importing tests, so the final levels will be much tighter than the ones shown.

An annoying thing: Riivolution only works with legit ISOs. My SMG2 disk is buggered so I use a backup, so now I can't play this :(

Just extract the partition with Wiiscrubber, add in the demo files, recompile the partition and reinsert it into the ISO.
It works just fine with a USB loader.

Mind sharing how to do the process? I'd be much appreciated.
