What if Squeenix were to bring the Final Fantasy IV Collection (as well as prior PSP-enhanced games of the series) to the 3DS. Would you buy it/them? I know I would. Final Fantasy IV is one of my favorite of the series.

Note:

This is simply a question. There is no need to bring up the fact that the game is available on the PSP, and that one could just pick up one of those to play this game. This is the 3DS section, not the PSP section. Take that to the PSP section if you must.

there comes a point that playing the same game in another "enhanced" versions is just one version to many. perhaps when/if the 3ds xl comes out, but otherwise i'd rather just stick with the classic release.

Honestly, I'd rather have a Final Fantasy "Anthology". games 1 through 6, enhanced and offered in one cart on the 3DS. I think people would go apeshit over something like that.
Or a Chrono Trigger and Cross compilation. That would be nice, too.

I wouldn't doubt the fanaticism that would erupt over something like that. The reason why I didn't target V and VI was because of the rumor that they'd be coming to the 3DS in the style that FFIII-IV were made for the DS. They (V-VI) were originally being made for the DS, but "technical problems" cropped up, so people believed that they'd make the transition to the 3DS.

As for me, I'm still a fan of the 2D version(s), and a port is more or less easier to make than a remake.

FFIV - SNES
FFIV - PSX (JPN)
FFIV Collection - PSX (JPN)
FF Chronicles - PSX
FFIV - Wonderswan Color (JPN)
FF IV Advance - GBA
FFIV - DS
FF IV Complete Collection - PSP

Yeah, no. IV has enough love by now. They need to work on others now if they want to keep remaking and porting the same games.

Remake loads of FF's that have been remade countless times before

Sweep Verses xiii under the carpet for another year

Seems legit.

They haven't made After Years with the enhanced graphics yet, I wouldn't mind seeing that. I would prefer enhanced 5 and 6 first though.

Dont get why there are SOOO many remakes of 1-4 (IV especially), yet only 1 remake for V and VI. Still waiting for those 2 to get an updated or penultimate version (Err, 2 i guess if you count the PSX versions)

IV was great but it is time for them to move on to the next one. 5-9 are being neglected. If they do IV again and leave us hanging, ill be pissed. Btw, never heard they had officially been working on 5&6 for ds but dropped it. Anyone able to confirm?
FF6 remake how they did 3 and 4 on ds AND in 3d? Hell yeah, I'm in.

I'd like to see V, VI or IX ported to the 3DS. VII & VIII really deserve a high definition remake, something Squenix have repeatedly said is infeasible for them to do right now, but I'm happy to wait.

Honestly, though, what's wrong with making a whole new Final Fantasy for the 3DS? They could really go back to their roots with it and make it a little less linear than recent games.

not going to buy any shit that remakes/enhanced games~!
i would rather put my money into totaly new games!

FF4 by far is my most favorite game in the series but after how badly they ruined the game on the DS, odds are no I wouldn't, not without a lot of extensive looking into others comments and video long plays to see if it's still dumbed down to a sadists version of playing the classic buzzer game of Simon. I hate them for what they did to the DS title. I'm glad I still have it on the SNES with the paperwork and GBA too...dicks.

To take a fun game, and turn all the boss fights into a fatal version of Simon sucks. Follow the pattern with your party, and if one move strays out comes the punishing bitchslap of death retalation move. Worst of all, also added it to a few random normal roaming random monsters in longer dungeons just to really put you into a twist. :( You basically need perfect timing for moves, or go in grossly over leveled when they strike and that's NOT how a game should play basically just to sell strategy guides and play follow the Simon pattern.
