Hello, members of GBAtemp, both new and old! As you can already tell, I'm new here so it only made sense for me to post a quick topic here in the "Introductions" section, dontcha think?

Well, I much prefer to be known on a "first name basis" so let me begin by saying that my actual name is Kenny. You obviously can call me by my username, MrTripStack, as well - I'll give you the option and let you choose. I heard people like options! I live in Florida and I am 18 years old. I was browsing the internet on this lonely early morning and decided that it was time to find a new forum, that I could chat on in my free time, so I'm hoping to find a few friendly people!

If there's anything you'd like to know, feel free to ask. I won't bite! I'm quite a friendly guy and I try to be polite and nice, whenever I can so I certainly won't mind a few questions!

But first, I have one question for you guys: I'm going to be buying a 3DS in less than a week (which is one of the reasons I chose this forum) but I can't decide what game I wanna buy as my first purchase so I'd like some options, if you have any favorites. I had a notepad document open, doing my research (as I normally do before buying a new game) and I'm sorta torn between Super Mario 3D Land, Mario Kart 7, and Super Street Fighter IV. I'll only be able to afford one game this week, so I need to choose a good game that could last me two weeks or so. Help?!

Also, I plan on eventually buying myself a DSTWO (when I get around to purchasing it), which I'll be using for GBA and GB/C games (and a few DS games, as well). I decided to include that, even though that might not matter too much. Lastly, I absolutely cannot wait for Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon and Paper Mario: Sticker Star, sequels to two amazing games I've loved in my past!

That is all. Talk to me?

Welcome on GBATemp :)

This is a nice and well written presentation.

I bought the 3DS at launch date, but never bought a game because none interested me.
I finally bought Kid Icarus Uprising. It took me 2 months to complete as I'm a slow player, but it should take you more than one week to finish (and even more to complete as there are a lot of unlockable items and trophies).
I don't know if it's your kind of game, but it's a nice one for 3DS.

Thank you! I definitely feel welcomed!

As for Kid Icarus: Uprising: I've watched a few episodes of a walkthrough on YouTube (what I normally do before buying a game I'm not sure of) and I am a bit skeptical of the controls, but I'm sure it's nothing I couldn't get used to after playing a level or two. It definitely looks like a beautiful game! By the way, does the game still include the plastic stand (or was that only available during it's initial release)?

And I'd consider myself a "slow player" as well - I'll play around 2-4 hours a day, between two sittings or so but I'm sure I'll play quite a bit more when I first get the console!

I don't know if it was only included in early releases.
It's written on the game's box, and it should still be available on online shops.

offtopic: I just saw a Wii-U release of uprising on amazon...
I didn't know it was announced.

I was thinking that if it wasn't still included at Gamestop, it'd definitely still be included with online purchases (because of the whole "while supplies last", that it could've been listed under). I don't mind either way but it supposedly helped with the controls, but it isn't a deal-breaker for me by any means.

I wasn't too interested in a 3DS upon first release - I wanted to hold off to see what future line-ups would hold and I can honestly say that I'm excited for some future releases! And in my opinion, a $169.99 price tag is a steal!

A Wii-U release as well? That's pretty interesting, actually. I haven't heard anything about that until now, so thanks a ton for sharing!

Welcome to GBAtemp!
Kid Icarus isn't getting a Wii U release at all, it won't be happening unless Nintendo announces it.
Amazon and other stores usually puts up placeholders in order to have early pre-orders, in case it gets released. It's just a guessing game really.

And if you don't like stylus controls you could just get one of these http://www.dealextre...ck-33314?item=4.
That way you control your aim using your right hand thumb, the advantage is that you'll be playing the game while holding the system with both hands, eliminating the need of a stand for longer play sessions.

BTW if you want to avoid flaming you should definitely be switching over to the standard text font. 99% of all members here dislike posts without standard formatting :teach:
