Hacking Which PSP should I buy

Hi, right now gamestop has refurbished psp's. I want to put a playstation, gba, n64, and snes emulator on it. I been looking around and most of the topics are older, so I've been trying to figure out which one is the easiest to hack. Gamestop has the 1000, 2000, and 3000.

Which one should I get, and what is the best method to use.

Of them all i'd opt for an early 2000. However, there's no guarantee you'll get one without being able to check....so of those options i'd suggest a 3000 simply as it's newer and will probably have less wear and tear.

Yeah that's what I was leaning towards I just didn't want to get a 3000 and then not be able to hack it

PSP 3000 comes with UMD support, but since you're willing to hack it,
it does not have any bennefit to you

PSP 3000 have a bigger screen, but Go is a lot more compact, perfect for a portable.
Go comes with a 16GB internal memory wich is a lot usefull, and if you bought 3000 you would still have to buy the Memory Stick
Go can connect to TV, and comes with the cable to connect with PC.
Since you are going to hack it I highly recommend you to buying a Go
There is no difference from hacking a PSP 3000 from hacking a PSP Go.
And everything that works on 3000 will work on Go in terms of
hacking, loading Isos, emulators and everything you know.

The hacking procedure is the same of 3000
It's very easy

Late PSP-200x, PSP Go's and PSP-300x are all *unfixable* in the unlikely event of a brick - if someone wants to buy a PSP specifically for hacking, a pre-Data Code 8B PSP-200x is recommended due to Pandora capabilities. PSP-100x is crossed out due to limited RAM (32 megabytes compared to 64 that's available for other models). The Go is only a good choice if you really, really want that built-in storage.

An earlier PSP will allow you to dump your own UMD's, so keep that in mind. The non-Go models also have a more pleasant form-factor compared to the Go, at least in my opinion, but then again, the Go is more portable, so it's a matter of taste.

If you prefer internal memory over decent controls and a larger screen then you won't regret getting a Go. Otherwise...

The PSP go control's are not bad, they take a little time to get used to, but it's worthy
And the larger screen thing is due to mobility.

PSP Go wouldn't be so compact if it had a screen as big as PSP 3000

I agree with you that it's a matter of taste, but as I said, PSP-Go has some more features than just internal memory.
I think that not having a :UMD port is prfect for people that hack PSPs,
UMD consumed too much space

Non standard USB adapter and awful charging position making it really difficult to play whilst plugged in.

On the plus side it has internal memory and Bluetooth (which drains battery even further). If you intend to use the PSP with a PS3 then there's a good argument for the Go, if you're really puny and can't carry very many light objects at the same time there's another, but to say that NOT having a UMD drive as an alternative source of games is a good thing is plain nuts.

Nobody should play while charging, unless you want your battery dead soon
The smaller screen and Poorer battery are related to the better mobility,
I don't think it's less durable, my PSP 1000 with one fall got the battery support broken,
when I played, it used to disconnect battery and the game was gone.

For me the analog is in better position, and
the thing of don't having a UMD is pretty good if you're gonna hack it.

If you want to play just original games, the PSP-3000 is better

1. Controls are fine once you get used to them.
2. Screen is fine, it's a sacrifice for high portability.
3. Never experienced a really terrible battery life with it. Yet again my older PSP was basically running off a charger since the battery was horrible and I'm using a Vita now so...
4. It's durable enough, just don't play street hockey with it.

6. The USB thing is a pain, I'll admit, but the charging position seemed fine.

Considering they're around $100 refurbished and come with 16GB internal storage, I feel it's well worth it.

Well I mean for me size doesn't matter. I do like the internal memory but memory is not that expensive so that's not that big deal. I was just concerned with which is easier to hack. I know that the games on umd would b cheaper but like I said I'm mainly just gonna use it for emulators
