* A fella made a mistake
* Fella's friend is a dick
* Fella's comrades are mad at him
* Fella apologized
* Case closed

Move on people.
I don't feel it's fair for people to spit over g0dlike like this. Thanks to him and his enthusiasm we enjoyed the release of DML. He made a mistake but there's no reason to hate him. Hating him like this means we are ungrateful to him and he doesn't deserve that.

I didn't see any comment stating someone hates either g0dlike or crediar, all we say is that g0dlike made a mistake, the leak was removed, g0dlike apologized, no harm done, there's no reason for crediar to cease the project, he's not punishing g0dlike or his friend by doing so but he's punishing those who respect his work and didn't try to get the leak!

- An old beta version (which is very unstable) was leaked, but few downloaded it
- Crediar got upset and threatened to cancel the project
- The d/l link was removed and what little damage was done was reversed
- g0dLike apologized and explained how it got leaked due to his friend

This means, minimal damage was done and Crediar has no reason to cancel the project. To discontinue it would be a detriment to the Wii homebrew scene.

Is that going to be your response to everyone that says that we need to get over this?

And so what? people wont be over it til crediar gets over it? I know this is cliche, but would you jump off a bridge or in front of a train or off a 10 story building if crediar did it? With you saying "Tell that to crediar" like you depend on him to tell you what the hell to do, I wouldn't doubt you doing it just because crediar did it.

Edit : Oh, and uh.. If i could, I would tell crediar to get over it already. The damage was minimal. Only 14 people got a hold of the leak. G0dLiKe apologized and explained what happened.
If people quit working on stuff every time it was leaked, we wouldn't have half the shit we have now.

Zero you're missing the point. People here ARE over the mistake that was made. Crediar is not. That is what annoys people. It's not that they're waiting for crediar to say it's OK to be over it, it's that people are complaining that he isn't over it.

If people here are over it, then why is it still a discussion that we are involved in?

I believe this is a conversation that should only be taking place between crediar, G0dLiKe and GodLiKe's friend. It shouldv'e been just a convo between only crediar,G0dLiKe, and G0dLiKe's friend from the beginning...

Now it's spread all over the Wii Homebrew Scene pretty much...

Let's get back to te point : would DM's features be good enough to surpass DML ? I don't think so. For now, DM would just be DML with a HDD instead of the SD. What's the point ? Who in the hell plays more than 3-4 games at the same time ? I am happy enough I can browse my collection of GC backups on my USB disk thanks to cfgUSBloader and then have the one I want to play for the next few days copied onto my SD card.

It is a well know fact though that most "pirates" (sorry if I ever offend a few) barely play any games in their "collections". As for gamers, I think they'd rather have an improved compatibility with their games instead of another medium to play them. Or do they ?

This big thing about the "leak" is a bit pointless anyway... Anyone heard of the linux community ?

Keep on the good work Crediar. I for one wouldn't mind that you give up the DM project and focus on DML's compatibility.

It's all a matter of loading speed and storage space. There are plenty of people who don't feel like storing games inside their PC and don't have fast, high capacity SD carts.

Why do people tend to express what they resent instantly on a media like Twitter... Why did Crediar make that kind of announcement in the first place...

No big deal anyway. The situation in Syria is a major problem. Crediar giving up his project his actually HIS problem. I care as much as if the baker's move his shop across the road...

Good if he makes something out of it. Shall he decide not to ever release it, there won't be any harm or whatsoever. That's his work after all. He can do what he wants. He even has the right to overreact or be hurt or upset or mad... It shouldn't matter to anybody otherwise they should get themselves a life.

I'm not talking of storing the games on a PC. I'm talking of an external USB drive. That way you can see the whole of your collection and still be able to play 1 or 2 games even if you only have a 2Go SD card.

Again, I don't know nobody (including my 2 sons) who play more than 3-4 different games at the same time. Playing a game thoroughly is already quite time consuming... Not to mention the fact most people on this thread already have comprehensive collections of wii backups on their USB drives to be busy for a while...

I rather use my SD for more Wiiware and VC if I can play my GC backups right from the HDD, plus like catastrophic said a lot of people, me included, don't want/have enough space to store their GC collection on PC, having them on one SD card is impossible and copying and from the hard drive every time wastes a lot of time, sometimes my siblings and I play different games each, we couldn't do that until we got a 32GB SD, still I would love to be able to run them right from the HDD!

The thing is, most of us wouldn't care about the leak if Crediar hadn't announced that he cancelled the beta -and possibly the project as whole- as a result of it. That's what people are concerned about, DM getting cancelled.

I play more than 3-4 different games at the same time. Or rather, I alternate between the games I play. Some times I play a "set" of games, other times I play other "set", depending on my current mood. There are even rare days in which I play half of my game collection.

And even if that wasn't the case, having all the games you own in a single drive and ready to be played at any moment is much more convenient that having just a few ones in your SD and needing to "swap" them. What if I feel like playing a specific game just for a few minutes, but don't think I'll be playing it the following days?

Not to mention that copying GC games to your SD and swapping them wears it out too fast. Also, why force players to buy a SD with plenty of GBs if you can help it?

For the question as to if playing on USB would do anything more than playing from SD... I kinda think and hope that somehow playing from USB would make disc switches, audio streaming, and self-checking games to work... Though, this is just the thoughts and hopes of one hopeful person who honestly knows not one thing about coding.

Since everybody is speculating with a lot of maybe's, I might as well add one myself.

Maybe the work on DM isn't progressing as expected. And maybe the leaked code is used as a good excuse to stop working on it.
With the hot breath of devolution in his neck, It's perfectly understandable that deinterest for the project passes by.

The Triforce mod is demonstrated working on some youtube videos, and all a sudden it's just a piece of unstable beta software?
I don't get it.. Please educate me?

Maybe it all doesn't matter much, since earth will be distroyed soon by aliens well known and sponsorred by the CIA.
Maybe they will evacuate me to guantanamo beach writing this, as I might have Al Quaeda connections, trying to destabilise the nation leaking
this information.

Maybe it's not me writing this and someone just picked my ip. (That's for the CIA to create confusion.)

Maybe people won't understand the irony in this and will start flaming me. It's still better than giving Godlike a guilt feeling.
I will say sorry in advance to Crediar for the maybe he will read this and get's upset about it.
He knows there's a way to prove I am totally wrong. (No youtube video's please, I don't trust those anymore) :)

Maybe reading this will make you smile. That's good. It means you understand it.
If it doesn't make you smile, it's not that you don't understand it. Maybe I just wrote it badly.

Maybe it's a bit off topic? Still, maybe it contains some interesting thoughts.

If it was me, I really would'nt care if my creation was leaked, I would continue with a finished product knowing how much
good would become of it.
I also compose and write music, and the best thing to hear is someone else playing your songs.
Same holds true for whatever you create in your life.

Makes sense, unless you wan't some income from your creation and the fact it's distributed for free blocks that option.
If they leak a piece of music into which you can't play a note right, (I am not saying you have such..), you could compare that
with leaking a buggy beta. This could explain why the leak suddenly was announced being that.
