Well the PS2 is the best console in existence (#opinion), so I doubt there will ever be a console that's able to match it's caliber ever again, especially because 3rd party devs were actually interested in the Nintendo console this time around.

We just had few third party games like some of Sega, few sports games, and a fps or two.
X360 and PS3 gor almost every 3rd party games!

The best there that you can say are solid titles are Sonic and Final Fantasy(althougt it's not of the main series)!

I wouldn't bother with PS3 now. I've had mine for a while now and the only reason I'd replace it is if it breaks and a repair costs more than a used one. My sights are now set on the WiiU later this year.

I wish some one had told me to "Prepare to be disappointed" when I bought my PS3, compared the PS1 and the PS2's software library the PS3's is just horrible.

I agree the PS2 was an amazing bit of kit, I guess after the runaway success of the PS1 and PS2 I was expecting Sony to at least do better than they have. I know its largely up to the third party devs/publishers/consumers but as a fan of console games I feel that the FPS genre is overflowing.... I have been a PC gamer since the days of the Voodoo add in cards so I may be a bit ahead of most people being tired of FPS games. After playing 1,000 of them you tend to get bored with shooting people/aliens in the face.

My getting tired of FPS games is probably the main reason I enjoy the Wii more than my PS3, the Wii has more of those offbeat "fun" games. The PS3's library has some good fighting games that I do enjoy but really short on the puzzle games and that type.

all that being said, I just hope the Wii-U doesn't get flooded with FPS games now.

and theres tons of good psn only games (mostly indie)

tbh I prefer the 360 for multiplatform games, use the ps3 for exclusives
