Hacking Help with R43ds Gold pro

So basically i bought my little bro a r43ds gold pro for his birthday i havent been on the ds scene in a couple of years so I was unsure what to do, went to the site "r4i-gold.com" downloaded the firmware formatted my memory stick placed it on the card then started it up but i keep getting an error msg "An error has occured. Press and hold the POWER Button to turn the system off..." on both a DSiXL ver 1.4.4E and 3DS ver 4.1.0-8E.. any ideas how to fix guys currently dont have access to a ds/dslite atm.

sorry for the your unfortunate results but i have found the one . pls try downloading this kernel. and post the results.

Same results again.. I had downloaded that kernel before and tried it earlier each time ive formatted my memorystick really have no idea whats going on atm

Edit: @pong2030200 I think you might be right all the firmwares ive tried so far have given me the same error message similair to "http://gbatemp.net/question-4547/major-error-r4-3ds-gold-pro"'s problem where it worked at first then suddenly started giving that error message. I'll wait a few days to see if they release a new update on the site and otherwise i'll just buy a different card, what would be your reccomendations?

The card you got I most fortunately missed.

It is basically a rip-off of the R4i Gold 3DS (http://www.r4ids.cn). It is quite similar, and it can be easy to fall for it.

Only this one - http://www.r4ids.cn is officially supported by Wood firmware...

Just keep away from r4i-gold.com. It's a crappy clone. Please choose www.r4ids.cn, which is supported by WOOD R4.

Recomendations

got some money to blow on a good card go for
1)Supercard DSTwo
its worth the money and updates for system updates in under 24 hours, and even if you update the system accidentally theres a way still to update it, best cart around
2)R4i Gold from r4ids.cn (watch out for very simular sounding ones and make sure its the correct one, feel free to ask me to check a link on a webshop if you want to confirm)
again very fast updates, great team and it supports wood so lots a fast updates when you want them, also the card is cheap so thats a bonus
3) Acekard 2i
updates can be slow and take a few weeks but its a well known cart. AKAIO is the kernel and gets good updates not as cheap in cost as r4i gold but still cheaper than some
