Lately, (for a couple of days) certain websites aren't working for me, specifically, these 2:
http://www.timesplittersportal.com
http://www.bbc.co.uk

When ever I try to get on to those sites it says this:
The connection was reset
The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.
The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few
moments.
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

I know it's not the sites since I asked my friends to go on them, and they could. And just to be sure I checked http://www.downforev...neorjustme.com.
I've searched around for solutions to no avail.
I'm using the latest version of firefox and my OS is Windows XP.
Any help?

Try loading them in another browser & see if they work . If they do then try clearing the cookies , updating to 10.0.1 if you still didn't & running it without the addons & see if it works .

Check the host file in:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc

Open it up in notepad and make sure it's not listed under the 127.0.0.1

It could be a dns issue.
So what would the solution be?

Try loading them in another browser & see if they work . If they do then try clearing the cookies , updating to 10.0.1 if you still didn't & running it without the addons & see if it works .
I tried it with google Chrome and they still don't work.

Check the host file in:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc

Open it up in notepad and make sure it's not listed under the 127.0.0.1
All it says is 127.0.0.1 localhost.

Go to run on the start menu and type
ipconfig /flushdns
then restart, see if that helps.

EDIT: Try the BBC website using this IP address instead of the URL
212.58.246.95
If you need the page then its a problem with DNS

By restart, do you mean restart the computer, or the browser?

Same error as before.

OK, so I'm getting the same problem as I described in this topic again.
I repeated all the steps I did last time to fix the problem, but they still won't work, I also tried the other solutions mentioned.
Any help?

Like, something wrong somewhere along the pathway that's being taken between you and the servers hosting those sites. This isn't uncommon due to the nature of the internet, and normally traffic should be routed around the problem areas, but this doesn't always happen due to a variety of reasons.

It likely affects more sites and connections than that, just mostly ones you're not trying to visit.

Hmm...
So there's no simple solution then?
