Gaming Possible Uncharted Golden Abyss plot hole

Okay, so I'm gonna say it again. This has major spoilers so don't read it if you haven't played up to chapter 16.

Well, this is about the Chamber of 7 Sages where you pick up Vincent Perez's journal. You find out that he got into the room from the ceiling by a rope. In his journal, he mentions that he's too weak so he can't push the statues around and hence can't progress to the tomb. However, once you go in, you find him dead in a room behind the staircase. I mean, what the hell? If he couldn't move the statues around, how the hell did he get in? Also, there was no way he could have got in iirc. I might be wrong, but yeah.

I thought Nathan mentioned when in that room with the statues that the old guy "must have found another way" not that it's ever made clear what way that could of been.

Why they couldn't have thought of something better i dunno...
