I've been thinking, since you can edit the saves games 3DS, then you could also edit the number of times a demo, if it is 30 uses count, or not?

Demos do not count it by days, they count it by the number of times you have used it.
It probably just uses the times used count on the activity log so maybe you can try deleting the demo from the activity log?

Deleting from the activity log does nothing. I think we just have to live with it. Not like anyone would play a demo 30 times.

I don't really see the main problem with the demo's usage times... Also, if you don't close the game, you can replay it as many times as you want, the only thing that triggers the count down is when you open the game itself.

edit: I don't think re downloading would do that since most stuff on the 3DS are connected with our eshop account.

HOME Menu, go to System Settings ➜ Other Settings ➜ Page 4 ➜ Format System Memory.

Then re-install the demo.
It's just you lose all you have bought in the shop :P

You first need to know the reason why you can edit the save games from the 3DS, it's because you have to put the game cart into some usb device.

You can't put a demo into some usb device.

That's not true. Leaving the game IDLE even lid down the game closes out. I just tried with RE.

You can put the demo on an SD card and put that in a computer.
This argument is invalid.

Yep. eShop save =/= Game card save so decrypting with current decryptors won't work.

I was going to say that earlier as I thought this thread would die but apparently not...

Also AFAIK saves cannot be edited yet, only decrypted and ONLY with Game card saves atm

Anyways its unlikely the playcount is stored in the save so you would be looking with no avail. The Activity Log stores misc data which includes playcounts, so that is likely how it is detected. The Activity Log is stored in the NAND, which is very difficult for most people to do.

When I downloaded it I played it a few times and closed the..3ds and played again later and it only counted 1 play used so this is the only way to play the game forever so I'm not sure what you mean, but your wrong.

i just tried closed the lid, and the game ended.
Yeah um...Kayouu is right, you can leave it open and close the lid.
I was so excited to play RE that I downloaded it while waiting for a lecture to start. I played 10 min and my class started so I closed the lid. Resumed playing an hour later.

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way
