Hey all I have been searching and reading the forum and am interested in getting a card for my 3ds. I think I would most like to get a Super card DSTWO as it has the GBA emulation and built in cpu so I am wondering a few things that I cant seem to find a clear answer on

1. Who are some trusted retailers I could purchase one from that anyone could recommend ( I live in Ontario Canada if that helps)?
2. what options must I select to ensure that the card i receive is compatible with my 3DS (firmware version 3.0.0-6U) for example what firmware must the card have preloaded onto it?
3. Do the GBA and SNES emulators work yet on the supercard DS TWO? (as i read that their availability was 'coming soon')
4 .Am I making the best choice going with the Super card DSTWO for what i want to use it for (mostly emulation of gba and snes)

If any of you much more experienced users could enlighten me on these subjects it would be much appreciated :D

cheers,
Mark

well i would go with a US place to order from over one that ships for HK if you want to get it faster where your in canada , i got mine for realhotstuff for like 39$ and i got the extra 1$ insurance too ,they ship from new jersey,
as for the gba and snes emulators yeah there both finished and have been released and they work just fine
and yeah the supercard if defintely the best choice, people say the acekard2i but only cause its much cheaper, but if money is not a factor then go with the supercard, you could save another 5 bucks if you get it shipped from a place in HK, but it will take longer to get, mine took 3 days from realhotstuff, and im in boston ,and shipping is free
as for the fw you will have to update it on your own as i dont think you can pick what fw you card will have , if you have a fully updated 3ds you may not be able to update the dstwo fw with it and may need to use a dsi or lite or old ds to do the update

The nice thing about the DS2 is that you don't need to worry about what firmware your 3DS/DS is on because it has a built-in cpu it can be upgraded to work on any firmware (even if it shows the error screen when you start it after putting the update file into the SD card). I'm too lazy to look for the link showing steps to do it on an already updated 3DS/DS though, so you'll have to search for that OP.

thanks for the info guys :) i will try to find out about how to install it without having to use someones ds i found a few sites tell me if you guys think they are legit.. i got them off of the official super card website as authorized Canadian dealers they are some of the first on the list there.. leetmod.com, mygamingmart.ca and gamersection.ca i noticed that for some reason mygamingmart has the cards priced more expensive but they dont appear to offer anything else that the others don't I am just really weary i wish i could order the supercard from the official site lol i hate going through third parties ..... let me know what you think :)

also do i need to get a mini sd from them so they put software on it or can i just buy my own and do it myself. I've soft modded my wii and shit fully with emulators and a usb loader and even shopping channel downloads so I'm savvy enough to do it i just wondered if i needed something i couldn't get on my own

realhotstuff didnt seem to have any stock. :( also correct me if im wrong but the supercard dstwo does have an update for firmware 3.0.0-6u? i gathered that from what i read on this forum

I would just order from modchipcentral myself. Thy are in canada and I've never had a problem.

You can buy any microsd you want. Just download the files from the sc website. I also use bagplug (menu replacement) but that is upto you.

They have an update for the latest fw. It's just labeled for 5u because 6u doesn't do anything toflashcarts.

The GBA emulator is a must.
However, you have to use NDSGBA v1.21 with game_config.txt for the best compatibility.
Don't get NDSGBA 1.30, it breaks game_config.txt support and only fixes like two games that no-one would ever play.

If you want to get games running at near 100% speed on NDSGBA:
1- Go in the Others menu, set CPU frequence to 4;
2- Go in the Video/Audio menu, set Frame skip type to Auto and set Frame Skip level to 1.

With Frame skip level at 2, the game suffers from noticeable lag, while a Frame Skip of 1 makes the game run a lot smoother.
I don't recommend setting the Frame Skip to 0, since the sound will crackle. Besides, Frame Skip would automatically go back to 1.
Of course, you can keep Frame Skip at 0 if you set Frame skip type to Manual, but then the sound will crackle a lot.

Really? How is that? I am new to the dstwo myself so I'd appreciate it if you can provide some source links to other people's posts claiming the same.

There's a sticky in the DS2 forum about it, but you certainly do want 1.21 and the game file. The 1.3 version is really bad.
Do you mean this sticky? I can't find anything in the first post claiming 1.3 is bad. In case you mean the official DS2 forum I'm afraid I can't find a sticky about the GBA emulator there :§

1. Umm, try shoptemp.net
2. Make sure it is preupdated, if not, then borrow a DS(i) and patch + upgrade.
3. Yeah.
4. Get it, because you wanted GBA and SNES emulation.
