I was thinking about my old Animal Crossing game, and I wondered- With the circle pad and the circle pad pro coming out, would it be possible for a remake of this game? There is a great possibility for many games, and would be a good target for homebrew developers if Nintendo doesn't.

I'd say the 3DS might not even need the Circle Pad for Gamecube Remakes. Most of the Gamecube games I played didn't use the D-pad or the C-Stick. So a remake of an awesome Gamecube game like Smash Bros. Melee (for example) could simply adapt to the 3DS' controls as SM64 did with the DS.

I like remakes as much as the next guy, but I am getting a bit tired of them, and kinda prefer new stuff right now :)

I could see it happening. But some franchises just deserve a new game over a remake.
Pokemon games always seem to make good remakes so I could see colosseum/xd.
Smash brothers is one that IMO is better to make a whole new game.
I'd say Mario Kart too but double dash was simply amazing and another 2 rider mario kart would rock.
They remade Super Mario 64 so sunshine might get remade i think.
Luigis mansion is already getting a new game and so is animal crossing so... yeah

Why not just make new games
Remake hater? New games get made all the time. Remakes are made because that game was so good it had to be done again.
I...never said anything that would lead to the assumption that I hate remakes? Just don't see the point of making an Animal Crossing remake when an actual game is coming out. Looking at Nintendo's past, remakes are only made to hold people over.

The best thing for the 3DS at this point is probably new games from franchises we're familiar with already.

That is why I put a ? in there. It was a question.

Evidently you've never played an Animal Crossing game.

I've played the DS one, can't say I enjoyed it, though. Never playing another one.

The Animal Crossing games aren't quite remakes, they're new titles in the franchise. Certain elements in the game are always reused, but they're always adding new features.
