Well, I was scrolling along the articles until I saw this:

Capcom Committed to Monster Hunter in the West

All sounds good actually, until I saw this:

I think that looking forward there are ways to greatly improve the accessibility and the online feature set. As an example of improved accessibility, the Japan-only Monster Hunter Tri G on 3DS adds an optional lock-on camera for new players.

I didn't want to post but I am seriously worried. As a crazy MH fan and a person who hates the 3DS region lock, I'm going to cry if this were true.

Thoughts? :(

it's funny caus one always forgets, due to the magnificant english-patch, that even monster hunter 3rd portable didn' hit the western market, despite being the biggest game in the franchise this far. it's a shame, really. and if its any indication, there wont be a monster hunter 3 G for us either. and with not having any online multiplayer and not being able to use services similar to adhoc-party, xlink kai,... with our 3ds it wouldn't even be that great. (for me at least)

The main prob is that the 3DS is region locked and you'll need to wait till it's hacked. :glare:

and yeah, pretty much the rest. :(

Well it is Japan-only right now. Doesn't mean to say Capcom won't localize it later.

Edit: And isn't there a brand new Monster Hunter coming to the 3DS anyway, they might be waiting for that instead of localizing a port.

Have 3rd on PSP. 100% english patched. Totally awesome. Lots of improvements since the last one. Well lets hope they localize it. I dont mind even if it isnt localized, but people will hate crapcom the moment they decide to not release 4.

It's not 100%.
Let me correct myself. 100% enough to play the whole game without ever wondering what is missing.

I dunno about other MH games, but no, Tri is terrible. It's a combat focused game, with lackluster, boring, repetitive, and clunky/unrefined combat. Which is...sad and hilarious at the same time.

I agree with Prowler though, it's Japan-only right now, it wasn't saying it would only ever be Japan only.

So you find that them holding a sword bigger than them shouldnt make themselves slow? Or when doing a big leap you dont end up taking a small pause to get back balance? Sounds like you got beaten up by the game.

@Prowler: Yeah, because MH is so story heavy that you need to understand it.......*Facepalms....
