With the update being out have you seen what type of file it is. Can you make gameplay videos that will play on the 3DS. The same way you made 3D pictures before.

Yea this, even though the file extension of the 3DS video is.avi its coded or built differently than an ordinary .avi file.

It's a .avi file, the codec used is Motion-JPEG, with two video streams.

I think this is possible, since we can make records of games right? Well since Eighteen has a Stereoscopic 3D screen for his PC, and he can record things it should be possible.

BUT there may be a problem, since recording this takes a lot of power from your PC it is highly possible the video's lag too much. And most games also don't run at 60FPS on an emulator so I don't have to much hope yet.

Hmm I dunno I have just updated and didn't see what is new..
But I can try I guess xD.. I can maybe make movies via the 3d camera pointed at the 3d monitor.. it should work technically, but it will look a bit dull i guess , but I'll give it a shot and see for myself first if it is worth the trouble.

EDIT: Ok so technically it works, but it's kinda impossible for me to play like this.
what I do is us the 3DS cam to capture gameplay, but I also need to hold 3d glasses in front of the 3D lenses xD and since that needs like, 1 or 2 hands.. it's a bit tedious.
plus the 3d camera is really blurry... but I'll see what I can do to make it work a bit better

I spent forever just trying to find an avi muxer that allows you to mux an avi with 2 video streams. Encoding each MJPG stream is the easy part. If someone can find a program that can do this, I think this should be a lot easier.

Is there no way to record videos trough fraps? It makes my PC slow as the hell but this could work.

Yes I was just trying it right now and it works, though the recording process is a bit difficult (the 2 seperate screens don't sync properly for me, I am trying diffrent mothods)

Wow, Motion-JPEG compresses terribly. Bad choice of codec, I'm sure Nintendo just now realizes how cheap was their decision not to put a H.264 chip in the 3DS.
Anyways, could anyone post detailed information on the videos? I'm waiting (for months, actually) my 3DS to come back from RMA, can't test it myself.

Hmm, I only could convert that, if i had the original file with left and right image, Though i don't know about those colors..

It's not a game as far s I can tell.. It's just the first video that came up when I typed '3D' on youtube..
