So i was psyched about this and planning on getting it as I thought the original was decent, but due to a difficulty spike and other games like 999 coming out and the announcement of this games release I decided to hold off finishing it... Well now I finally got my 3ds but find out the battles arent even in 3d... Full VA is cool even if its a little lacking. Im so disappointed. Is the game even worth getting? Your thoughts and comments are appreciated.... Are there any noteworthy changes here?

There's a whole new 8th day for one.
I also hear there's a difficulty setting now, though i am not too sure on that, could be wrong.
In my eyes its worth it, especially due to the 8th day, combined with all the different routes and all.

I was also looking into getting it as the holidays are approaching, but the biggest deciding factor for me not going through with it was the price. If you're able to find it in stock, it's generally quite expensive. Not worth it in my opinion for a game I've already played and beat; more or less. I'm just gonna keep an eye out at local shops in hopes of finding it cheap somewhere down the line.

Devil Survivor Overclocked's selling point was never 3D. It's an enhanced port of a DS game, and Atlus never said anything about 3D in any of their advertisements. However, every word of story dialogue is voice-acted (and pretty well, I might add), most of the endings now have epilogues (the sum total of which accounts for about 1/4 of the game's script), they added about 20 new demons and a bunch of new skills to the game, and they added an Easy mode that doubles the XP and Macca (money) earned from battle. If you've already played the original to death, you might not want it, but if you're at all interested in the game and haven't played it yet, it's certainly the version you want to buy over the DS original.

Also, if you want to buy it and can find a copy, do it now. I got mine on launch day, but I hear they're already getting pretty rare, and prices are hiking online.

Meh... I'm still waiting for ghostlight to pick this up... I sent them an email two months ago or so and they said they've had plenty of requests to localise it so they were thinking if they should really localise it. =O

hmm well i guess I might as well then... I dont suppose you can switch between easy and medium difficulty midgame? not the usual thing for smt games, but I figured I'd ask...

Also yes Ive noticed how ridiculously expensive this game is from online retailers... luckily gamestop has a "near you" function to help me find one at a resonable rate...

how bout the bottom screen graphics? are they any crisper by chance?

I want this game so bad, but it's so expensive now :(
Are the graphics any better than on the DS?

Nope. You can't change difficulty at all during the game, and any New Game + games you start will automatically be set to Normal difficulty (they probably expect that a team of level 70+ demons will make the game easier enough as is...)

The game does boast "high-resolution graphics," but I think that just means that it was fitted to the 3DS screen size and resolution. There hasn't been a particularly noticeable increase in the eye candy department.

Yes the graphics looks better however do not expect any 3D during gameplay! As said earlier only the opening of the game is in 3D....
As stated previously, there isn't really that much change in the graphics department. However, the opening to the game isn't the only sequence in 3D. There's also a short 3D sequence when you fuse demons.

Ill probably still get the game to support the developer... but I really feel like a lot more could have been done. When I buy a game for 3ds i expect a little more on the 3d side. I feel like if this were on a console it would be $10 dlc...
