Just got back into the wii scene.. and first thing i hear of is this. Must say... i like what i hearing so far.
Just a few questions if any one could be kind enough to answer,

1. NTFS Support?
2. Games must be in iso or wbfs format? EDIT: Turns out they have to be in iso.

Had a quick google, but it seems most of the info is outdated, hoping latest revisions allow NTFS.

UNEEK or SNEEK?
(U)=USB (S)=SD
I do not believe they support NTFS only FAT32 cluster size32kb (16 if your drive doesn't support 32).
It's nice but mostly as an alternative to run music game which require additional peripherals or WW/VC titles; albeit you could use PostLoader2 to load your WW/VC titles and there are 3 really good USB Loaders like USB Loader GX, Configurable USB Loader, WiiFlow, you could also try out. SNEEK and UNEEK are fun to play with however just you wont get one 100%compatibility. and they are working on a cDI module that runs .WBFS games w/in these 2 environments so the games that are supported with USB loaders will also be supported with SNEEK and UNEEK.

Please correct me if I'm wrong about the cDI module since I'm not part of the testing group.

is their any kind of loaders with covers that allow you to run games in seek format?
having to select a game in disc channel through command line gui is the only turn off

joyflow is for uneek a mod of wiiflow
joyloader_gx for uneek a mod of usbloader_gx
joyloader_CFG for uneek a mod of CFG_loader

just do a google searcg for any of those

also modmii will help in building a nand and the files to get s/uneek running

Very true on all points, though I have to say it's a bit unfair on the "you wont get one 100% compatibility" remark. As it stands, only three or four of the games I tested have issues (I tested a bit over a hundred...including pretty much all the "known problems on cIOS" games). That's impressive by any standard (heck...it plays games like driver or tintin without problems).

@bseos: scooby already mentioned the loaders. Though I have to warn you that these are modifications, and thus not supported or maintained as good as the actual loaders.

Which is the better module, in terms of compatibility of games?
The current iosmodule or the custom cDI module which doesn't require the game image to be extracted and can play .wbfs files directly?

There doesn't seem to be recent development in the cDI module though, last update was in june.

I can't answer your question but I think you may be looking into the wrong thread.

Also is anyone still working on SNEEK/UNEEK? After crediar left I'm not sure if it was picked up by anyone.

Overjoy and me are not only working on the cDi, but also on minor improvements of SNEEK/UNEEK

So far, we have:

-An option to load the nand from a subfolder instead of the root
-An option to select which di should be loaded by the system
-The Channelcache.bin file was moved from the sneek folder to a sneekcache folder that becomes one of the nand folders. (So that every nand can have it's own one)
-Compatibility with the priiloader setup, if you use a special version of priiloader
-Homebrew usb drive acces when minor changes are done to the homebrew to make it neek compatible
-A sneek ©Di version that doesn't require a harddisk anymore
-Joyflow and other adapted usb loaders to load your games in neek

Don't ask for it right now. We are still busy testing everything. I just wanted to give an idea about what is being worked on.
We will also need some good tutorials, as the more features there are, the more complicated the setup can become.
The release date is planned for within a couple of weeks.when nothing serious turns up.

Further on, we don't see neek as a system you need to choose for. We want it to be a system that can reside on your wii
next to the real nand and usbloaders. We leave the choice to you what system to use to play your favorite backup.

wow sounds awesome obcd

Another question, does uneek+DI allow loading of original DVD games in the disc channel? From what i understand DI is to initialize the USB games into the disc channel instead
No if you choose to have SNEEK+DI or UNEEK+DI you cannot use original disc only games converted over to disc-ex format and stored on your SD or USB; ModMii can batch process all your dumped games into disc-ex for you. Yet if you want just SNEEK or UNEEK you can use original games but not be able to play Wii games stored on your SD or USB in disc-ex format.

When using ModMii and setting up and emu-nand ModMii will have full descriptions of which each environment does. So essentially:
SNEEK - Can play original Wii games but not Wii games converted in disc-ex which may be stored on SD or USB
SNEEK+DI - Can not play original Wii games but can play Wii games converted in disc-ex which may be stored on SD or USB.

UNEEK - Can play original Wii games but not Wii games converted in disc-ex which may be stored on SD or USB
UNEEK+DI - Can not play original Wii games but can play Wii games converted in disc-ex which may be stored on SD or USB.

That's the main difference between the 2 types.

Sneek and sneek + di get's the emulated nand folders from the sd card.
Uneek and uneek + di get's the emulated nand folders from the usb drive.

Sneek + di is what you need for the moment to run dios mios lite.

The Sneek kernel.bin and Sneek+di Kernel.bin files are different.
The Uneek kernel.bin and Uneek+di Kernel.bin files are identical.

So the switch from Uneek+di to Uneek can be done by simply moving the di.bin file to another location.
With Sneek, this doesn't work, as you need the other kernel.bin as well.

Two quick questions :

1) Do I need an SD card to use Uneek ?

2) If U/Sneek are effectively just NAND emulation on the Wii (and the NAND just contains all the IOS and cIOS installed at the time of the backup) why do games like Tintin only work, currently, through U/Sneek and not a USB loader which is using the same (c)IOSes ?

Yes, cause the bootmii folder is located on your SD card; so regardless if you use SNEEK or UNEEK you will still need a SD card.

Cause it does not use the cIOS it uses the proper IOS it was ment to as if you had the actual game; currently the only cIOS compatible with SNEEK or UNEEK is waninkoko249rev14. It is recommended to delete the other cIOS as they cause stability issues (correct me if im wrong) also only HBCv0.7 works with SNEEK or UNEEK not the latest HBCv0.8.

Since the games are using the proper IOS the compatibility is that of owning the actual disc. Keep in mind there is no 1, 100% compatibility (at least untill cDI gets released .wink ) but it's nice knowing your dont have to worry about cIOS or anything.

Thanks for that kylster - I now have to track down where my SD card has gone (as I noticed recently Bootmii wasn't running on my Wii - and found no SD card there !!!).

The next cDI is the one that will let Uneek run .iso/.wbfs format games right (ie same format that CFG Loader uses) so means you no longer need to 'duplicate' games on the HDD ?

Also, how do the games stored on the HDD appear via UNeek ? As seperate channels or via a new "selector" channel ?

That is correct the public cDI will run .wbfs files albeit I'm not sure how those will show up; only people in beta testing would know this; I know if you have games in disc-ex format on your drive and you press (1) it will show a text list and you just select the game and it will load it into the disc channel as if you had just put the original disc in.

I may switch to uneek+di permanently when the cDI is released and I have time to play with it. You may want to check out Snort48+ as this will allow you to install as many channels to your Wii as possible and then you will be able to sort through them and choose which of the 48 channels you want to display. Then again I believe it was mentioned the modified loaders of CFG, GX, and Wiiflow will be worked on to be better supported.

uneek supporting both .wbfs and disc-ex format the compatibility will basically be 100% at that point LoL

Dumb question for those beta testing cDI: since it's run in neek environment does it mean the .wbfs files will be run using an vanilla IOS as well?

Yes, the wbfs games use the same ios as the fst (discex) do.
The wbfs games simply appear in the same list as the other ones.
If you select one, it is like loading the dvd in the drive and will show the banner animation of the game.
At that moment, you can launch the game.
With Joyflow, a modified version of Wiiflow, you can simply launch the games the way you should do when playing using a cios..

ah man between cDI and PL2 I don't know what I'm going to do :) Is there a way to boot into uneek+di w/o having my Wii autoboot into it cause of bootmii:boot2? I mean I know JoostinOnline has a IOS253 out there but I don't know much about it. I don't mind reading I just dont have much time to look it up atm; plus I'm too lazy to want to constantly keep pulling out my SD card so I don't boot into uneek+di.

Thanks for the info :)

On a side not I have a dump of IOS254 any idea what it's for or its usual main purpose?

as for ios 254 its the bootmii ios for us without an old boot2

have you seen sneek deluxe it will load games from ntfs and they can be iso or wbfs files

i wish he as still developing it but.......
