In the past when making my own channels, This is the ID naming scheme I used

Game ID: RSPP01
WAD ID: SP01

Because R & P just describe disk type and region, wheras the other characters are actually what really identifies the game.

Just my preference

ps: thanks cluster! this seems like an easier version of CRAP (what i was previously using).

Yeah, I would have prefer this scheme too, but I had a close look to my isos, and with the scheme proposed by Cluster, I didn't notice any double. So I guess it's OK.

at the risk of sounding like a complete noob, which of the selectable loaders would you recommend for general usage?

I'm using 1.1s mod by Sorg.

QUOTE(Adr990 @ May 6 2009, 05:21 PM) I have entered the right IP, and have Homebrew Channel on.
But it won't send, and test.
Strange... Version 1.1. working fine for me.
v1.0 has bug in test mode

If you are using 1.0 then redownload it.

This App looks much better than what i was using before, one question though, does any of these dols have support to wait for usb to spin up when loading the channel? My problem with my current channels are if me or somone else plays the wii for a bit non usbloader related the drive goes to sleep, then when i click on the channel to play it, it freezes rather than waiting for the usb drive to wake up

Yes, "1.1s mod by Sorg" can. Sometimes I forget to turn my HDD on and loader waiting 30 seconds for it.

Oh... my engrish is very bad

could you please add uLoader: http://mods.elotrolado.net/~hermes/wii/uloader_v1.5B.rar with cios selection option (222 or 249). this loader with new cios222 has sleep drive - game freez fix for external desktop drives like WD MyBook...
You need to create Crap compartible uLoader's mod (edit source and recompile it), then you can add it to Loadstructor by youself, just edit "loaders.ini".

cant use other loaders there's only 2 on there and they both cause freezes don't know what the third one is. i tried replacing the loader.dol with the dol from ultimatev7 but it wouldn't load. v7 has to have some type of fix that stops the drive from freezing so I'm sticking to that for now.

what is the advantage of this over crap?

Haven't really used Crap before, but doesn't it ask for a banner and game id instead of just doing all that automatically, like this does?

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

  • cearp @ cearp:
@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space
