mmm maybe it's not complete

Giving you 2 files :

FIRST :

test boot_q3fix.dol, this one may be the fix (and give me the ndclog of it, see below)

IF IT DOES NOT WORK

Test the boot_logfix.dol updated and do this this :

1/ Launch NullDC4Wii
2/ Launch a Game
3/ Wait till title screen of the game
4/ use exit combo (- and + or L/R/Z/Start on gamecube)
5/ Now get the card out and give me the file again

Was boot_q3fix.dol meant to be started from the USB? I tried with my usual setup first, replacing the 0.72 boot.dol in the SD card and it said that some bios were missing. I didn't see any ndclog in the SD card, so I assumed it failed and tested boot_logfix.dol (actually, it's an .elf file).

boot_logfix.elf worked from the SD card and I started Jet Set Radio. I exited with the button combo after a few seconds in the title screen and checked that there was a ndclog..txt in the SD card. I'll attach it to this message as "ndclog_boot_logfix (SD)"

While I was writting this message I took a look in the USB and saw there was a ndclog.txt there with part of the text that was showing on the screen when boot_q3fix.dol failed from the SD card. So I copied the nullDC4wii folder to USB:/apps/ and tried the boot_q3fix.dol again. This time it worked and it sent me directly to the game selection in the USB. I chose Jet Set Radio again. I exited with the button combo after a few seconds in the title screen and checked that there was a ndclog..txt in the USB root. I'll attach it to this message as "ndclog_boot_q3fix (USB).txt"

Hope that helps.

ok try this one

If it works, it works

If it display a message and go back to HBC, send me ndclog.txt again
This one worked from the SD and loading games from the USB just as expected. Thanks.

I'll attach the ndclog.txt just in case you are curious. It's Jet Set Radio again.

I noticed some corrupted textures in the intro that weren't there in the previous builds. Although by eye it seems that performance is better. I'm using the game_presets.cfg from 0.72 without changes.

Ah nice ! Finally !

do me a screen or photo or the corrupted texture

game_presets.cfg should be good, altough it must be placed is SD if game loaded from SD, and HDD if game loaded from HDD

It was impossible to have decent pictures so I recorded two videos and made some screenshots of the exact frame. Then I noticed more wrong textures than I first spotted. I tried to add them all in the composition. Basically bikes, stop signs, trucks, footbridge and skybox. Also the bus wheel and some banners, although that could be missing geometry instead of texture corruption.

Emulator is on SD card and games on USB. On the left side pics are from the boot_31b1d1e build and on the right side pics are from the boot_logfix.

Interestly, if I load the game from the SD card in all builds these graphic issues are gone. But it seems performance is a little worse. At least there are longer stutters than didn't happen loading the game from the USB.

I wonder if someone else is having this same issue or if my configuration (Wii/HDD) is too special. In io-Quake a few more users also reported what was happening to me.
Looking at another topic that someone else started, my System Menu is 4.0E. I wonder if that's related. Or maybe bootmii as boot2 is taking a little more memory that if it wasn't there as I think the most common thing is not beeing able to have it.

Try with

Very_fast+ and cmpr=on

on both SD and USB

As I stated :

These kind of graphic issue are usually fix with this preset (Very_fast+ and cmpr=on )

I had a problem recently (I put cmbr instead of cmpr) so be sure to have the game_presets.cfg from alpha 0.72 in both SD/HDD and make sure the game name matches for the game preset to apply
Post automatically merged:

nvm I have the same problem on dolphin, need to see where is the regression is

Tried Gladmort and Alice's Moms Rescue.

Gladmort works... kinda. I mean, the graphics are choppy and the sound is terrible, but the game is still somewhat playable. Still, nice job, man. I remember trying it on the first builds, and it wouldn't launch at all, so the progress is obvious.

Alice's Moms Rescue gets past the SEGA logo screen but freezes on the language selection screen.

yeah homebrew games are mostly not supported.

If I get a copy of those 2 games I maybe could dig into them more, fix stuff and adjust preset

you can, and for free ))) just do a little searching (not going to publish the site where i got them because gba won't let me publish the link).

Anyway, digging more into the homebrew/new releases scene would be great because there are a lot of cool new games for the DC today.
