With courses starting, I don't think I'll be able to commit to this game, but I did start playing Mega Man X Regenesis. So far, I really appreciate it. The gameplay feels (mostly) like a real Mega Man X installment.

I refuse to look at guides, so I spent time spinning my wheels. I really enjoy that slow grind for a Mega Man X game, and I did the same with Mega Man X8 16-Bit. You get to slowly improve X through upgrades, while you test yourself with the stages and bosses.

I haven't had any of the crash issues others have reported, but the game did seize up briefly a few times in one stage. It doesn't bother me, but some of the original artwork stands out against the assets from the SNES games. I feel bad for even mentioning it, but it's something I noticed.

One thing I want to point out is that the boss theme is legit. Mega SFC did a nice job with it. It's got the right energy.

Those are my first impressions of the game. So far, recommended for Mega Man X fans.

Solid game, but 1/2-2/3 of the way I kinda gave up since game started throwing those purely annoying enemies you HAD to take down using extended weapons and abilities with constantly and seeing how rest of the game was purely more of just that I pulled the plug. AC at least had lots and lots of fluid and fun parkour vs just driving the horse from one mini-boss random encounter to the next.

Now, I take EVERYTHING I harked at new Star Wars Zero Company - it's a perfect SW themed XCOM albeit with TOO much graphics and absolutely unnecessary and power-hungry Unreal engine. Once you get (mid game, maybe? wherever I just got to) your toons absolutely wake up from weak slumber and start wrecking everything like SW heroes ought to!

Some missions can be absolutely brutal and force you to hella leg it to extraction point and to throw insult to almost grave injuries, they spawn a ton of fresh baddies RIGHT next to your extraction point you're still at least 2 turns of full speed away from....

But then Jedi and non-Jedi can yeet things off when maps have chasms or pure airspace around the play area

And THE best QoL - you can change classes/respec spent skill points absolutely willy nilly thus try all sorts of combos and whatnot. Game can be plenty hard as it is.

Edit: HOOOOLY Sithspit this story and delivery absolutely fucks! Just when you think you might be at the final boss, nope! For what it is and how generally focused, this is almost as damn good as KotoRs in a kinda, sorta similar format since those were technically turn based as well.

Check this game out its nothing new slightly older but its a good entry into the aliens franchise. The game incorporates strategy and hectic levels. Its a challenging game for sure I played it before.

I’ve picked up Stellaris, but I don’t think I’ll commit to it. I liked Hearts of Iron 4 and I remember playing one of the Crusader Kings games, but Stellaris feels overwhelming...

I've also finally gotten my hands on Deltarune! After watching hundreds of gameplays on YouTube and reading every page on the wiki, I can now experience the game firsthand. It’s such a different feeling!

Started Elden Ring Nightreing and im disappointed.

I was expecting to retain some quind of evolution on the characters after each successful run, but no.

Having to start from zero everytime is quite frustrating for me.

Not gona lie, I'm selling my copy and try Monster hunter wilds instead.

Ooh, nice!
Monster hunter wilds
Helllll yea! If crapcom hasn't, it's very doable to get running decent on low-medium settings and game is fluid and full of QoL with a nice extended story tutorial to get you settled into the loop.

Failed to mention that i am going to play it on a Series X, online with a friend. I hope its better than Nightreign in terms of story and character evolution.

Also i bought it 2nd hand :D.

It's a proper action game without stupid windups that break the combat rhythm and is far, FAR away from being Soulstrash.
in terms of story and character evolution.
Ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh........ mostly YOU are the story, and evolution is how you gitgud at slayin Mons as you get used to everything, their attack patterns, and playing with all the weapons available. It's really about enjoying hunting, art style, etc than some rails RPG.

Here's the very, very key thing in MonHun - once the general idea clicks in your head, you can pretty much jump to other games in the franchise and enjoy the hell out of those with your skillset only building up on itself. All your skills translate very well between even the older titles albeit the combat being slower and slightly less fluid. That said, next time World and Rise go on sale, and you like Wilds, pick those up as well and plow through them too.

So MW5 Clans just wore me down with Wolves of Tukayyid and its constant resource shafting (VERY appropriate for the setting and story though. just gets annoying after failing the same mission over and over and not even having any alt mechs to try it with), so I jumped back in 5 Mercs and I love the sandbox aspect of it with some "story" missions sprinkled in here and there. Grabbed the Kerensky expansion and now killing game time to accrue more currency and firepower for when the start of that campaign will trigger and having a blast again.

Honestly, you should. Its fluid, fun, and a great universe to get into with cool fishing mini-games, resource farming (made stupidly easy now to actually make that fun) to relax in between either nailing things 5-20x your size or running TF away from and then doing it all again. Also, MEAT mini-game that's a helluva staple (how @AncientBoi haven't gotten into this meating game yet, is beyond me....).

Also, y'all on PC? Cuz if yes, I'd love to jump in and help you 2 out whenever clever.

FFTA: Using Leonarths ASM hacks like perma death, and fft like death and FFT like jp system, it's been very fun and challenging I prefer it over the vanilla game and thankfully I was able to find the github to compile a version with all hacks installed (most posted online are usually just no laws hack or fft like death)

Legend of mana:
Liking it so far but I think my opinion would be very different if I didn't use a guide

Sword of mana:
Very very fun and simple game and honestly has some very gorgeous sprite art at some points, I'm pretty sure I'm near the end and kinda regret not committing to it sooner

Secret of mana:
I don't need to say anything, most people already know how good this game is and how broken magic is lol

Digimon cyber sleuth:
I'm at the start, had to start over due to losing my saved, I like this game alot but I'm definitely of the crowd who's enjoyment of these kind of digimon games new and old comes from the farm and raising digimon, like pokemon the story's were never anything crazy to me, I do prefer the anime in terms of narrative in the case of digimon, for pokemon Its the manga 100%

Star ocean blue sphere:
This is a weird game, weird in a good way,
It takes a bit to get used to but they surprisingly put alot of effort just for a GBC spin off game, I quite enjoy it to be honest

Xenosaga 2:
Art direction change was a bit off putting at first but it grew on me, and I'm just really glad they have a full system dedicated to tracking decoders and the respective doors, because I missed alot in Xenosaga 1 and had to back track quite a bit to get the ones I missed, also if there is a poker mini game in the second and third game pls let me know it was fun as heck in the first.

That's awesome, I wish I had the time to play through the Sega Saturn version of Grandia. I really enjoyed the PS1 version because it wasn't a grindy JRPG. (I believe I only had to grind two times out of the whole experience.) I don't want to get people's hopes up and say it evokes memories of Squaresoft, but Grandia comes close to that.

I know the PS1 version has some weird issues with the skybox. (Camera pans, both the skybox and some out-of-bounds emptiness are visible.) I certainly noticed it, even in the first scene of the game, but like the PS2 version of Grandia II, you can still find the intended experience in there.

TL;DR: I can't help myself and nerd out over Grandia. PS1 version's good, and the Sega Saturn original's supposed to be a slightly better, less buggy experience. (Now, in English!)
I actually just finished the saturn version recently on real hardware, good game but never spend 7 hours grinding water magic I lost so much sleep lmao

Just gave Project Cars 2 another chance.

i got this game for free with Games With gold (cant remember when), and i tried to play it on my One X, and the frame rate was shitte so i gave up trying to play it after a few short sessions.

The other day i in the mood of trying some of my gigantic back log and saw the game on my library so i gave it a go on my Series X, and what a diference.
I'm not sure, but it appear to have a solid 60fps even with the "better graphics" option turned on.

As for gameplay, the physics are really good. Might not be as good as the latest Forza (aka forza 8), but this game also has car destruction physics, something that is missing from all Forza's games.
One can even lose a well on this game, and i love realism like this.

Visuals are also good. I think at the level of Forza 6.

The only complaint i have is the 3rd person view of the car. The way the camera follows the car when the player turns is kinda weird and somewhat "stiff".

If this game had run as good as its running on a Series console, it would blow Forza out of the competition as the number 1 racing sim game on the Xbox One.
Sadly, either the hardware was just to weak or the game was not as polished back then.

I'm glad i gave it another go.
