I want to thank everyone here so much for their work. I was looking for better banner sources- tons of great ones here, guys! Still, it wasn't very convenient to figure out who had done what and look through disparate posts and download links with different paradigms, etc. I figured, "let's make a website to host all these and make them easily accessible from a Wii"... I also wanted to make my own banners, which led me down a rabbit hole from hell.

I didn't want to do the "draw a face to make a circle" approach of creating a WAD to extract a BNR, so instead I reinvented the wheel; leveraged stuff like Sharpii, batch and PowerShell to be able to extract and rebuild BNRs. I extracted everyone's banners and homogenized them somewhat with ImageMagick operations. I also set something up to generate preview images and the mentioned website (do tell me if you think I need to split this to pages, it's quite long!) so you can see what the banners look like. It's bubblegum and duct tape, folks!

List of my creations (updated 04/10/2026):
@CaxB2000, there is an alternate Franklin in English if you want.

Thank you, and I do apologize for doing this without asking anyone first! If you really don't like this, I'll take it down. This was still worthwhile for learning how to make my own banners.

You can go to my main page through my profile, and you'll see a GameCube Banners link. There, I explain in more detail what's going on and what I did.

I would like some assistance in a few things:
  • Simply using the banners, making sure they still work (also to see how the free host takes to this kind of usage!)
  • Finding issues with any banners (including ones I didn't originally author), so I can fix them and make them better (especially if it's my fault it's broken)
  • Finding mis-attributed authors so I can get that squared away- I want everyone correctly credited for their hard work
  • Telling me of games that have regional name differences (LinkToTheAsh had Smash Football and Quack Attack, for instance)

@CaxB2000, I see Gauntlet: Dark Legacy in here, who made it?

Here's a list of my creations so far (I'll just edit this post when more come):
  • Darkened Skye (different music, re-sourced assets, different icon BG)
  • Disney's Donald Duck: Goin' Quackers (LTTA's but with the NTSC-U title)
  • Evolution Worlds (certified fresh)
  • Freedom Fighters (NotEthanHobbes' had a 1x1 fake logo with baked BG- completely redone)
  • Shadow the Hedgehog: Reloaded (where's that damn f...)
  • Shonen Jump's One Piece: Grand Adventure (NotEthanHobbes' ditto)
  • SSX on Tour (NotEthanHobbes' ditto)
  • Super Mario Strikers (LTTA's but with the NTSC-U title)

I might have a look through this thread to see what requests haven't been met yet!
Holy cow this is a really ambitious project! I'm not fully sold on the reduced Gamecube logo on these banners, I kinda liked how intrusive it was in a weird way, but still, the idea of having access to all these on a Wii itself like that is so cool.

I do get that! I just really wanted some extra real estate for the art. It wouldn't be hard for me to rebuild all of them with the old header since I have this all batched out, but it'd be a bit absurd hosting both!

Yeah I can understand that, but it just really gave an accurate look of the original covering on the Gamecube cases (even if it did take up more real estate) & I preferred that. The new way makes it look a bit crunched to me, but I mean....I'm nitpicking lol. It's still an awesome project you're doing.

You see Gauntlet? Where?

@CaxB2000 Here's a link. If you have the time and if it isn't too much of a bother, given that you were one of the most prolific banner creators before the Windows nuke- could you tell me if all the banners credited to you (just search your username) are indeed yours? You share duplicates with some other authors and it's possible there's some that aren't yours that are miscredited. It's also possibly the other way around, but it'll be easier to ask other authors to help me figure out the reverse.

It looks like @NotEthanHobbes made it. It doesn't appear to be in their post list(s).

Mine HAVE been modified from the original (most notable thing is the different header) so if you wish to just use your existing files and not update to my changed version(s), you'll want to download the original which is here. My new banners going forward will only be available in my modified style. I won't be offended if anyone rebuilds any of mine with the OG header. I can provide assets for the requested games as not all of my TPLs are lossless RGBA8.

P.S.: Who the heck made the banner for 007: Everything or Nothing?

If you grab it from my site, you'll need to rename it; likely to "GUNE5D.bnr".

I saw your website and the banners.

I will say that you did a good job doing adjustments to the banners.

I will only download those that currently don't have a banner added in my Wii (like Super Mario Eclipse and Gauntlet), but I'll add an exception for Super Mario Strikers and Donald Duck: Goin' Quackers since the ones I am using have the European titles.

Also, I believe I made that 007 banner.

Do you take requests btw? Since you made some, I have some requests lol. If not, that's cool
I thought about doing some earlier in the thread that haven't been covered yet, but doing some fresh ones would be easier to follow and require less investigation. What ideas do you have?

Well, maybe some enhancements of my takes on the Tak game banners (maybe shown along with Jerygan's takes (Tak 3 looks no different tho, maybe aside frok the music), plus my Pokemon Channel banner to go with whoever created it. Kinda like as options to choose between.

OH and in terms of those with no banners... what I said ain't all of it, but that's what i think of:

Dora the Explorer: Journey to the Purple Planet
Barnyard
Avatar the Last Airbender
Ice Age: The Meltdown
Intellivision Lives
Marvel Nemesis: Rise of the Imperfects
Meet the Robinsons
Mr. Driller: Drill Land
Ratatouille

I will say more whenever you get to finish them tho lol

I'll mark these off as I go. I might try to do one a day. As for your other stuff, I need to see how I want to handle duplicates on the site. There will have to be a default in these cases, and the optionals will have to be downloaded manually.
Very well. Looking forward.

This might be a stupid idea, but perhaps duplicates/optional stuff can be in a separate page (if it is do-able in the website you built it in). If you haven't decided how to handle duplicates that is.

This batch is DONE.
Awesome. I'll leave you be, I'll request some new ones in a couple of days. You need some rest from that lol.

I do apologize if some of my IconBacks are maybe... too detailed? I can't always find an asset that's suitable, I'd rather not do flat backgrounds unless it fits the game's theme. I see @cryptid did a blur on at least one of theirs to make the logo stick out more on the icon. I see you yourself mostly tried to go with simplistic, sometimes flat backgrounds for icons. @NotEthanHobbes used the same art for both icon and banner, so that means they're probably running into the same "maybe too detailed" problem I am sometimes!

Well, my banners ions I did mostly did plain, simple icon backgrounds via Paint.NET. Some has details but yeah lol

It's a valid choice- I just wanted to know if you were personally bothered by any of them.
Eh, I am not bothered. Variety is good, even if I usually just do one thing I always do lol

Also, how is that idea for a page full of optional stuff (like some of my takes on the banners like Tak)? Or is it not possible on what you're building or you still want to think some more?
