Super Mario Galaxy Movie Direct announced for the 9th of March

Today via their official Twitter account, Nintendo have announced a new Nintendo Direct, set to feature the final trailer for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. Little is specified outside of the fact it'll start at 2pm PT and that no game information will be included as a part of the presentation, focusing solely on the upcoming movie that's set to release next month.

The link for the live stream is already active, allowing users to figure out when it goes live in their given time zone without getting too annoyed that one person can't feasibly list a given time for every city.

I still don't understand what is the point of these directs, is it going to be a proper interview with the team behind the movie or just another trailer and nothing more? If it's the later then why the fuck can't they just release them like any other regular film makers?

Again...? Also I see Wart in there. This is gonna be like the first movie. Too short and the pacing is gonna be atrociously fast to the point that you can't blink without missing half the references lol

My thoughts exactly, its like they need the attention so bad they feel the need to announce a direct just for that, i bet is just going to be something like -> Miyamoto: bla, bla, now with chris san, Chris: bla, bla, now with miyamoto san, Miyamoto: here is the new trailer, end. I really like maria, but i hate this approach a lot, makes me dont watch the movie at all

Its almost guaranteed, the length of the movie is almost the same as the 1st one (like 1:30), considering all the worlds/settings from the trailers its going to be rushed a lot, i hope to at least got a better ending that the 1st one, they wrapped things up in like 1 minute.

I saw the first movie and thought it was funny, although a little boring. This one looks okay, but I’ll probably watch it at home.

Just to create hype, I guess.

But I lost the interest to watch Nintendo Directs, congrats, Nintendo.

In terms of so many locales within a short movie, I'd say it's most likely going to be in the form of a montage, something along the lines of a mission by whomever (Rosalina?) where "you need to retrieve <item> from each of these places", and while most will get a handful of seconds with their relevant references, I'd say whatever involves that casino-like environment will get most of that montage time. Mainly because of its SMB2 character references that are on the poster itself.

It's a movie for people already familiar with the Mario universe, so it's not like they need to spend a lot of time on each little thing.
