theres rare stuff there? isnt it just an archive for preservation of old games? Here's hopping the rarest stuff can get mirrored to other sites because MAN, if only that had more sheckles thrown its way (especially by the pirates who gloat about what they pirated for internet brownie points)
There's almost 400TBs worth of files, some of which includes some harder to find leaked content like the Nintendo 4chan korean stardrive leak, an entire laserdisc collection, SEVERAL semi-obscure to outright obscure consoles from the Vetrex to the Enteks Adenture Vision (No that is not AI generated garbage, thats what its actually called), many things ripped from unique CD/DVD formats, and thats not counting the prototypes, betas, and other leaks thats lumpped in all that data.theres rare stuff there? isnt it just an archive for preservation of old games?
i didnt know there WAS rare stuff among those.
Surely you mean https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Entex_Adventure_Vision ..?Entechs Adenture Visions
Yeah, just had a typo with the name of the company that made that one, and its an example of the many devices Myrient had content archived of, because dear lord theres so many across the three main romsets, a lot of which probably is only emulatable on MAME.Surely you mean https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Entex_Adventure_Vision ..?
i would, but im hardly well off. it would take thousands like me every single month and even THEN you might not reach that target.I never even heard of this website until this thread.
Also, 6 grand a month? I'd shut that shit down in the first month, because fuck you cheapskates! I know none of you would give me a dime.

But, y'know, it's important to preserve everything, which means making a local copy of everything that you can stash on a drive and never look at ever again. They see a link, they click it, and it's MAGIC!! The costs incurred behind the curtains are an afterthought.

Plus the POS making the paid download managers that leeched of the siteNothing in this life is free. Unfortunately, entitled folk don't understand this. They see a link, they click it, and it's MAGIC!! The costs incurred behind the curtains are an afterthought.
Paywalled download managers In the past several months, many specialized download managers were created that completely bypassed the site, donation messages, and download protections. Some of these download managers locked certain features behind a paywall that required users to pay in order to gain access. The use of Myrient for commercial, for-profit purposes has always been strictly forbidden. Such egregious and abusive usage of the site cannot be tolerated anymore.
Okay, I had no idea about that part, now that's just fucked. That sounds like pseudo DDOSing.Thank all those mass downloaders created specifically to r@pe Myrient, and what's even more, many of them were charging $$$$$ for it.
Funk You!

The folks over at r/r**s & r/DataHoarder are currently doing their own preservation work.I'm reading on one of the reddits that there is an active project right now to preserve everything. I think it's called Minerva
