Announced last week, Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen have today launched digitally on the Switch and Switch 2. Featuring little in the way of enhancements or emulation filters, it was initially speculated these were one for one ports of the original titles. Mere hours after the games released however, a Japanese speedrunner was surprised to see both the Mystic and Aurora tickets in their bag after beating the Elite Four.

These previously event-exclusive items grant the player access to Birth Island and Navel Rock, home to legendary Pokemon Deoxys, and Ho-oh and Lugia respectively. With Pokemon Home support to follow, these Pokemon will be later transferrable to the modern entries.

A friend of mine bought one of the games and noticed that he could no longer call his rival "Schinke", which is what he called him in the original game.
The name itself is one letter away from "Schinken" meaning "ham" in German. Why is that not allowed? Your guess is as good as mine.

You could already inject any GBA rom you wanted into NSO GBA to get local communication support + LAN play support as well and I'm sure there's a save editor to enable the ticket event already.

Interesting. Considering I wondered that. Sorta reminds me how 3DS pokemon yellow had the pikachu surf mini game without the tedium of requiring pokemon stadium. (Even though pikachu still can't learn surf.) Or 3DS Crystal had the celebi thing. Hopefully if pokemon emerald comes with the E-reader content, that be nice... It would also be nice if they just release retail switch cart with all 5 gba games included without costing more than people willing to pay.

But maybe I'm out the loop or something... isn't there a rom hack that did this already stuff like this or was it always some gameshark or action replay cheat?

Some event items weren't officially distributed in every language. From a quick glance, it seems like the MysticTicket was only supposed to be available to Japanese and English games.

Its just pure greed to offer a shit subscription service where all they do is offer you crap old titles that arent even with paying for and they throw in the odd single maybe decent title.

Then in switch 2 have another tier premium subscription just to again poorly emulate old titles like the cube which is pathetic how nintendo cant even emulate its own hardware.

Then see them now forcing gamers to pay even more for old titles like this which considering your paying for a so called premium subscription..... games like this should be included.
