Today, Mario Party Jamboree received update 2.3.0, which officially adds Polish language support. However, this option seems to be tied to the "Nintendo Switch 2" system settings, where you can select "Polish-English" from the main console menu.

Since the game files are identical for both Switch 1 and Switch 2, the Polish assets are present on the original Switch, but there is no "Polish" option in the system settings to trigger them.

What I've tried so far:

  1. NX Locale Switcher: I checked the app, but "Polish" is not available as a selectable language in the list.
  2. Atmosphere LayeredFS (config.ini): I created a config.ini file in SD card/atmosphere/contents/0100965017338800/ with the following code:

    [override_config]
    override_language = pl
    override_region = eur

    (I also tried other variations like pl-PL, but none of them worked.)
Does anyone know the correct language code for Polish in Atmosphere’s override_language setting, or is there another way to force the game to boot using the Polish locale on the original Nintendo Switch?

I know Nintendo says the Polish version is only available on Switch 2. However, the games are exactly the same (the same files).

On the Switch 2 console menu, you can select 'Polish-English,' whereas on Switch 1, there’s only 'English.'

The Polish language files are physically there; we just need to find a way to force them to load.

You can't because there are no Polish language files in 2.3.0 update for Switch 1. Simple.

They aren't. It is known that for some Switch 1 games Switch 2 gets separate updates. And it seems this is the case here too.

This doesn't mean much because it shows only languages OS supports, it doesn't need to cover all languages game supports, officially or not.

There are over 1000+ games that officially supports Polish language on Switch and none will show Polish as supported language in your tool and eshop.

There are over 100+ games that have Polish language hidden on Switch and you need mods to unlock them.

I did spend over 7 years collecting informations about them. Finally I don't need to since start of 2026 Publisher can officially inform people if their game supports Polish on eshop.

Więc mimo wszystko mam nadzieję, że uda się kiedyś jakoś odblokować ten Polski język ;-)
