maduro being a small-time dictator with landgrab ambitions ≠ the most powerful nation in the history of our planet openly overthrowing a government for personal gain
why are we ceding this ground that "well maduro was bad"
this is not the same thing! this constitutes an enormous breach in international law by the country who cannot be held accountable without the world itself being destroyed!
I mean, these things are not mutually exclusive, I'm just stating that the guy was a dictator because that is what it is. I'm not downplaying the precedent that something like this sets in the grand scheme of things, I quite literally ended my message by stating that Trump is becoming a dictator himself by actually doing the thing the very person he captured was plotting on doing.

If you confiscate an oil tanker in international waters then invade the country of its origin and overthrow a sitting president, before declaring that from now on, American companies will be strongly involved in the oil industry of that country… I find it hard to see how anyone can suspect this has anything to do with something other than oil.

Noted that the other country he’s bombed and threatened in the name of self defence this term, also just happen to have the third largest oil reserves on earth (Venezuela having the largest of course).

I imagine there are opportunities to build hotels and golf courses while he’s there.

Thanks for keeping the world safe Merca.

Hmmm, this is Ironic since the left didn't care at all when USA was being invaded by foreigners and they didn't care about USA's sovereignty when millions of illegals were invading and committing crimes against American citizens, drugging, killing, kidnapping, stealing, raping, trafficking them
First: Do you have even a single data point to back up this claim? Or do you just trust whatever JD Vance says (he admitted to lying about Haitians eating pets).

Second: Even if, hypothetically, the US were being invaded by millions of rapists and murderers (lol) do you honestly not see the fucking difference between random illegal immigrants crossing the border and the most powerful nation on Earth bombing your cities and overthrowing your government overnight? Are you actually genuinely mentally ill?
that's why lots of people are leaving the left and even more will be seeing the light as you read this.
Nope. The numbers don't lie: Trump's approval ratings are in the toilet, socialism is no longer the boogeyman, and "dark woke" is on the rise.

You're in for a rude awakening next election, if we even fucking have one.

This user is a waste of everyone's time. They are not here to debate, only to gaslight and enrage others. Best to just ignore them.
That why I put him on my ignore list.

Not gonna waste my time to deal with him.

Also, he destroyed all of his credibility when posted the fake news.

Fake news is anything that actually happens and you dont like

I want to note - this forum rule disallow the trolling posts and many of his posts constituted trolling posts, so he should get a permanent ban like some forums did with members who shared similar behavior to him.

Political discussion is serious talk for members to share their opinions and it is not arena to battle against others with different views, also it is not place to do shitposting. If he wants to trash everything, so EoF section would be appropriate place to do it.

It is not his political view that is problem, but his overall behavior and treatment at other members are.

Don't you have a "safe space" where you can go and sit down for 1/2 hour, that way when someone has a different opinion to yours you can go and sit down until you stop hyperventilating.

Also who are you even talking about and what is it that has your knickers all in a twist?

Safe space? LOL!!! You really want far right wing safe space. This forum has rule and they don't enable you to break the rule because you are conservative, so there is no such as safe space in here.

and nah, it is not his opinion, but his poor behavior that led to shitposting in here and he didn't discuss about political issues as he was supposed in this section.

Ok, let move on from issue about member.

I'm going to share my opinion. I absolutely despise Chavez since I became understand about politics in 2003 and it is due to his authoritarian nature, so it got much worse later as instability affected whole country of Venezuelea. However, Venezuelea has problem with rampant corruption and when oil market crashed in 1980s, it did energized a lot of people who want to have socialist government like Chavez, so they had several coups, especially twice in 1992. Those incidents contributed Chavez to became a president in 1999. I'm kinda smile when saw the US removed Maduro from the president but still very concerned about civil war that could last longer as decade or more because Venezuelea has many rebel/guerilla members and cartel members that cannot be eliminated easily as the US wished for.

Speaking about international laws, you have to remember that a lot of countries broke it, not just the US alone and let look at Russia's invasion of Ukraine as one of international law is broken. Look at China did to Taiwan, so they broke it too. The US is no innocence either.

Of course, there were a lot of Venezueleans want go to the US to claim the amnesty and the immigration law hasn't updated since 1980s, so they didn't address the issue with illegal immigrants until border crisis occurred when Obama was the president, so continued under Trump and Biden when more crisis arose. The EU has same issue as well, especially from Middle East and African countries. Remember, there is no best solution, beside tighten the amnesty rule and border crisis would continue to flare up anytime if there is new crisis. The US could get involved with countries to help the economy to growing, help to resolve the issues in countries, humanitarian aids and go after the government for cause the crisis. Venezuelan government was extremely uncooperative, no matter about which party is in control of US government. You have to be creative about how to solve the crisis, even if it violate the international laws because UN and other countries opt to not cooperate or help to solve the problem.

It is less about parties but more about geopolitics.

Quoting Donald Trump, as he spelled it out that no. It's not about drugs.
"We're in the oil business..."

"We’re going to have our very large United States oil companies, the biggest anywhere in the world, go in, spend billions of dollars, fix the badly broken infrastructure, the oil infrastructure, and start making money for the country." --Donald Trump

All you talking about how this is because of drugs, or narco terrorism or that we're doing it for a good cause to get rid of a dictator. (Which Trump pardoned a major drug trafficker)
You got played for manufactured consent. That's what this is.

Yeah, that remind me of Iraq back in 2000s.
