Pretty cool! I'm learning unity right now. Is there any particular reason to use this version of unity vs 6.0.x?
There's also a 2017 version of Unity that can also export to 3ds, though it runs absolutely horrendous so yeah, as nicholas said, 5.5 or 5.6 are the oldest versions that can export to 3ds and have relatively good performance (if done right)

Doesn't exporting Unity projects for 3DS require the leaked (or NDA'd if you got it legitimately) Nintendo SDKs? With that in mind, surely there's no way you could release this port outside of actually placing it on ROM sites?

ive already got a working unity 3ds license and account, so i dont see why that could be a problem. its against the sites rules to publish copyrighted sdks so i will be uploading the full game somewhere else.

I wish I knew unity, I use Godot and my own C# and Java engines.

Pretty much yeah...
Hopefully someone makes one to export and compile with Devkitpro.

Uhhhh what?
I've been using json recently and it works without much of an issue

How are you handling it? Or what doesn't work for you?
sorry for such the late response but yeah my mistake! json files do work on unity, i just had no clue on how to transfer pc game json files to an older version of unity that uses older versions of code. c# 4.0 for me personally was easier to work with since i was making mostly scenes, but as of today i am working with json on data management and saving.

Hi, may i ask how is the project going?
hullo! i had been busy with exams and schoolwork, but i am still developing this port! i recreated a lot of the code in that video, but its more manageable!
