No, really... usually these kind of drawings where either:
1.- The Medieval Artist getting bored.
OR
2.- Making fun of a rival family.
If you notice, the derpy looking horse is next to a fallen "enemy", while the other is still holding it's lance.
Probably was to mock the defeat of someone... that is, of course, if this picture comes from medieval times.
