Nintendo Switch firmware version 21.0.1 now available

switch12.png

A new system software update is available for both the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. Released tonight is version 21.0.1, and there's actually more to the update than just stability. Including in the patch notes below is a fix for a specific error users might have been dealing with:

  • Fixed an issue where Error Code: 2011-0301 or Error Code: 2168-0002 would repeatedly occur on a Nintendo Switch when attempting a system transfer using local communication from a Nintendo Switch system to a Nintendo Switch 2 system.
  • General system stability improvements to enhance the user's experience.
As always, it's best to avoid updating your Nintendo Switch until other scene members have tested the update and datamined it. As for the Nintendo Switch 2 patch notes, those are listed below.

  • Fixed an issue where Error Code: 2011-0301 or Error Code: 2168-0002 would repeatedly occur on a Nintendo Switch when attempting a system transfer using local communication from a Nintendo Switch system to a Nintendo Switch 2 system.
  • Fixed an issue where sometimes, after waking up the system from Sleep Mode or turning off Airplane Mode, wireless controllers or Bluetooth audio devices were unable to connect.
  • General system stability improvements to enhance the user's experience.

Apparently everyone spends all their time on the homescreen instead of playing games
When I start playing a game, RPG perhaps, I barely even see the home screen and that's throughout a 40-60 hour playthrough. I probably see the lock screen more than the home screen at this point 😂.

21 broke most working dock including their own but it recovers with a restart. 3rd party needs a firmware update. Nintendo claimed that they did not do it on purpose.

Evil Nintendo would make you loose game progress if you happen to go to home and want back into the game. They put a default button that will restart the console which means your unsaved progress is lost. Have you not seen that, there were already many updates and the update firmware dialogue only appears when you want to play game. If you want to visit eshop they are all too happy to delay the firmware update.
Going to be honest, I have no idea on the issues with 21.0.0. I've had zero with my Switch.

My Two Cents:
3DS was the peak of gaming console

I agree. Best handheld console ever (so far).

Wdym? You can choose Light or Dark. What more do you people want??

Because i actually liked themes on the 3DS since i like to be able to customize my experience with my devices.

The only reason Nintendo did not go that route with the Switch is not giving a f*ck about their costumers.
Ever since Iwata died their attention to this QOL improvements as greatly diminished.

We used to have Themes and be able to change the size o icons, create folders to organize our games and apps, give those folders icons, etc.... We used to have spotpass (thanks to the homebrew community its still alive). We used to have the ability to play online and not pay a stupid subscription for the worst online gaming service at the market (yes its still crap, but now its paid crap).

I’d really hoped that with the Switch 2, they’d bring back more of that heart and soul the 3DS and earlier consoles had, but alas.

PREACH! as someone with a TOTK OLED? I was devastated to know that I can't match its exterior awesomeness with an interior theme...its just so bare bones! somebody needs to get bob the necromancer to do an unboxing with Iwata so he can smack some gamer spirit back into nintendo and fix things!

First thing I thought, seeing the version number?

"In a.d. 2101 war was beginning..."

IYKYK 😝
CATS: YOU HAVE NO CHANCE TO
SURVIVE MAKE YOUR TIME.

But on a more serious note, this had to happen right after I update to 21.0.0 so I can take advantage of the latest Eden. 😡

I just want to replay Rescue Team DX....
