Here's a video from Equinox Labs showcasing what is being developed for Team Resurgent's PicoStation firmware.

From the looks of it, you can attach an LCD display module with some buttons, and it will allow you to select the games from what appears to be a menu with cover art included. According to Equinox: short press will mount the game, and a long press will return to the menu. We'll have to wait and see what comes out of it. ;)

Megavolt has put in a lot of work on his fork twords game compatibility and it is damn good, team resurgence just pulled his changes over and haven't touched there fork in some time since before.... I have been using megavolts RC2 release thats been out for a month now, its very good has a menu runs all but two games I have well but they could be bad rips or the SD card as picostation is a bit picky about it. There is a wire install method for picostation now too that was the method I used for installation.
I would recommended checking out his fork as he plans to do more.

Thank you, I'll keep an eye on that github too :)

I too have taken the plunge :) Just finished modding my PU18 Pal machine using the wire install method.. Phew it took awhile lol
I'm using Megavolt's RC3 release with Cover art support! everything's looking very pretty.
So far all the games I've tried has loaded, but tbh it's not that many, 10 or so.
My wires look like spaghetti but it works and seems to be holding. :)

Nice, I have a few pu-8's and a pu-18 on rc3 now as well. Megavolt is working on the next firmware which ads a wire from gp3 to the mechachons clock pin, this over clocks the mechacon and increases "CD" load times by about 10% I am testing it now on one of my pu-8 consoles. You have to lift pin 68 on pu-18 or on pu-8 remove the 4mhz Crystal from the board or cut two traces for this to work. I am in the psxdev discord that's where most discussion is going on around development on it.

The main thinthing this does is fix the fact pu-8 mechacon runs at a slower speed than pu-18 but it is also a faster clock signal from pg3 than the cxd chip produces on pu-18 they both get a loading speed increase so regardless of pu-8 or pu-18 they should be close to on par with load times after this goes live, and faster than the xstation can do as well.

I've ordered some Kynar wire. I plan on tidying up my wiring and place the Pico above the shield instead of below the PS1's Mobo where it is now, the PS1 Mobo doesn't sit flush where the Pico is installed now and I have to screw the console together loose otherwise the Pico will refuse to boot :P
I've also ordered a PS1 RGB Scart cable, I'm hoping it will allow me to play NTSC games in colour, I need that 60hz goodness :D

Interesting, I may go ahead and try that when RC4 drops. I'm pretty happy with the load times I have now but I will probably do the extra modification, even tho lifting pins is a nightmare for me, at least its only one more :)

Placement is important, top side might not work out so well from what I have seen some people have boot issues or other sorts of problems. close on the bottom is best with short as possible wires, this is how I positioned mine on pu-18.

That's very handy. Tho honestly I don't mind taking apart the console every now and then when there's an update, but I can imagine it being a pain if your a beta tester and there's loads of new test updates.

My RGB Cable turned up today and I can confirm NTSC games are now displaying in beautiful colour lol
Still waiting on the Wire and new Flux. I'm probably going to place the board closer to where yours is located if I cant put it on the top of the shield. I'm happy as long as the PS1 will close properly.
