i first homebrewed my wii with an sd card and now i got a flash drive for it and now i dont know how to switch everything to he usb and leave my sd card free to use on my ps vita

Hard drives fair better than flash drives, but if you have a compatible drive, just make sure it's properly formatted as fat32 and MBR, then copy the files from sd straight over. Some apps won't work without sd, namely bootmii. But u would generally just need the sd again to restore a nand backup should anything go sour, so not a big deal for your day to day usage to be usb-only

Hi, so I just installed the homebrew channel with bootmii, cIOS, priiloader, and USB Loader GX. Once I got that all running, I decided to try and get my game files onto my SD card, at which point the card corrupted while transferring the files over. I want to be safe and prevent my Wii from bricking should anything go wrong, and I’m unsure of how to do that now that my SD card is gone. Based on your reply, I assume an SD card is necessary, but I just figured I’d ask to make sure.

After u have bootmii installed and a nand backup, u can remove an SD card from your setup if u like and use just a usb hard drive. You would only NEED an SD card again in the future should you brick or semi-brick and need to restore the nand backup using bootmii.
