I own both models and both have had been acting odd as of recently

starting with the original model using the simple dark CFW, i was playing final fantasy tactics advance and when trying to save
i noticed both save slots were blank meaning it deleted all of my past data.

as for the DE (Running on the color splash CFW) , I've noticed some graphical glitches within FFTA and sonic battle, sonic battle being worse with it displaying incorrect color pallets on Gamma. the last issue is Mother 3 just straight up crashing on multiple occasions during game play, typically after battles end.

I've own both for a little over a year now so I'm afraid requesting for a new one may not be possible and if not and there isn't any solution to this, is there an alternative GBA flashcart one would for sure recommend?

My SD is 3GB, FAT32, 32kb clusters size.

I'd recommend trying to go back to stock firmware and see if the problem persists before doing anything else. Also, SD cards are cheap enough that it's always worth a try. You can easily get a name brand 32gb SD for under 10 dollars. Failing that, you can check the FAQ on this forum for common problems and solutions if you're not afraid of reheating or resoldering chips.

Everdrive would be the recommendation for the most "reliable" flash cart... but nothing is perfect and they have their fair share of problems too. Also, they are quite lacking in features compared to Omega's offerings and they cost around the same price as the DE, usually more even. You get a generally reliable flashcart with RTC and that's about it. The so called "SuperCard" is gaining in community support and might be a nice option in the near future.

so far going back to the stock firmware on the DE is working well, so im not sure if the CFW has some bugs that may need ironing out, nonetheless i will keep you updated, if all fails i will have to look into a supercard. thank you very much for the support!
