On the topic of Vaccine misinformation, it turns out the CDC shooter last week shot up the CDC building because he believed the COVID-19 vaccine was to blame for his mental health problems, including depression and thoughts of suicide.

So, good job misinformation peddlers! Your ignorance created a boogeyman which spurred on a crazy murderer. The blood of an officer is indirectly on your hands.

Back in 2020 the COVID-19 vaccine was the most hotly debated topic on the internet. Now nobody talks about it. I started in the undecided camp holding the same worries most people did about the vaccine being rushed and the most popular ones being mRNA vaccines which hadn't been used in human vaccines before. After an initial period of hesitation I joined the pro-vax side and crusaded over the internet in favour of the vaccines. I did practice what I preached and booked my appointment immediately after learning I had become eligible for it. When I eventually got COVID I felt terrible, far worse than the flu. Without the vaccine I may well have ended up in hospital.

Thinking about it now, I'm glad I got vaccinated but crusading on the internet over it was a fucking waste of time and achieved absolutely fucking nothing. The best thing to do would have been ignore the heated debates and stick to a simple comment saying I will get vaccinated then a few a social media posts saying I got my first, second and third dose.

The vaccines did have their side-effects. The now discontinued Astrazeneca vaccine had a 1 in 100,000 risk of lethal blood clots. The mRNA vaccines carry their own risk of heart related issues. In the fear and confusion of the pandemic misinformation about the side-effects including facial paralysis and magnetism spread all over the internet.

Back when vaccine mandates were announced I called them an unfortunate necessity of the times and still think of them this way.

I wouldn't say it was rushed, we had almost 2 decades of research on the coronavirus vaccines.

So let me get this straight. You're against vaccine mandates and against immunization against Covid, and openly dismiss the hundreds of thousands of victims (and that's just the ones who died) experiencing some of the worst and most debilitating flu symptoms in medical history, because for about a day, from the vaccine, your siblings experienced...

*checks notes*

...fatigue and arm pain.

Oh my goodness! You poor baby! Does your wittle arm hurt? Were those mean ol' doctors mean to you? Does baby want a lollipop?
Just ran into the perfect meme for that here:

Oh no, not arm pain.

"I don't trust this vaccine, but I trust this other vaccine."

Are we really going through this?

Seven million people died.

It's just so sad. The vaccine is meant to help as many people as possible, but the ones so opposed to it are only thinking of themselves.

Typical smooth brained, selfish, irrational, diseased wimp talk.

This is the main issue. Selfish idiots.

Literally, my body, my choice. I'm not getting the Covid jab, ain't going through the jab side effects, for a minor flu that I got over twice.

lmao

so minor that it killed more people than the death rate of car crashes, with long term effects such as brain fog, difficulties breathing, and heart issues. Sure.

Next you're going to tell me second hand smoke isn't a problem or something dumb like that because your body your choice right?

Okay, did you at least bother to self-isolate when you got it? Because right now it kind of sounds like you don't care what happens to other people so long as you personally are not slightly inconvenienced, but I'm sure that's not true. If you self-isolated, at least you do understand the concept of highly contagious disease = bad, even if you didn't understand how the vaccine would help for that at the time.

... came to this thread for the divisive nostalgia, did not disappoint: stockhold syndrome abound! The vaxx hurt me or I still got covid but it could have been worse! ... yikes. you think the medical establishment has your best interests in mind? the USA and much of the west has a very unhealthy population for a number of reasons, but the medical industry is one of them.

... bunch a little tyrants here on the Temp. haha. and like a good little tyrant you can't leave well enough alone. if your "vaccines" work so great and they protect you, why do I have to get it? won't me and mine die out? (and deep down that's what you want, right?) or do they not protect you?

you know how I know it was all bullshit? literally no discussion about the biggest lever we have when it comes to our health: the food we put into our bodies. remember all the freebies you could score for taking the jab (aside from possibly myocarditis)? donuts, shakes, seed oil fries, on and on. as a whole, gamers aren't exactly the healthiest group of people so I'm pretty sure I'm talking to wall here.

remember the "experts"? no, you don't need masks. yes, wear a mask. wait, no. wear two! social distance! completely made-up quackery. Oh, and don't take Trump's shots. wait, he's no longer the president, now take the shots! you guys fell for it and don't want to admit it. it's hard to admit being wrong, or go against what your wife/gf says you must do.

why did the majority of you stop getting the shots? because the social pressure and programming stopped. that's it. you guys go along with what you're supposed to go along with, or whatever your significant other says. I get it....it's difficult to go against the majority opinion. it's not natural. and we were being slandered and called all sorts of names for not wanting me and my family to join the experiment. do you think people who opposed it loved the situation they were put in? I uprooted my family to a safer, freer, saner part of the world and sacrificed a lot to maintain my health and integrity.

Who you were during covid is who you are; I'm guessing no one here will second guess that. I know you can easily turn that around on me. That's fine. I'm used to it.

I'll keep my strong healthy body, mind, and spirit just the way it is, thanks. you guys can keep getting your boosters but I wouldn't recommend it.

you think the medical establishment has your best interests in mind?
sigh

Doctors and nurses themselves, yes they do care. The CEO's ontop who have made this system for profit don't. Nor do the middle managers. (which by the way. Is a very good reason to NOT have for profit healthcare)
For profit systems when human health is involved is and always will be a terrible idea.

Oh and I'll restate this, anti vaxx rhetoric stemmed from a disgraced ex doctor who wanted to profit off his own vaccine. Andrew Wakefield. Because the UK government funded the MMR vaccine, which included 3 vaccines in one. Wakefield planned on creating a company to release each shot separately for profit, through creating a scare.

We can have that discussion now if you like, I'd be interested to see the proof you have on how nutrition is a better method of stopping viruses from spreading than stimulating our immune systems against the virus.

I just did about five seconds of googling, and I did find a study suggesting nutrition seems to be associated with better outcomes in covid. Thats not particularly surprising, they need more research to make sure it's not just a cooncidence but you would expect people who eat healthy to be healthier and have better odds of fighting the virus. Makes sense.

Course, that's just saying that nutrition helps. Not that nutrition is so vastly important that we should disregard vaccines and all other methods in favour of it. I think you're right in saying there is little discussion of that plan, because it's a bad one.

When you say there's no discussion of this, what I think has actually happened is that there HAS been research into this - covid was kind of a big deal, lots of people looked into it- but the data doesn't support your argument, so you're assuming it's all been suppressed as part of the conspiracy or whatever.

What would you do, if you were in charge? Cancel the vaccines and start handing out cucumber strips? Yeah, that'll stop the active pandemic. Even if eating healthy eating granted complete immunity (it doesn't), does this plan rely on just leaving those who don't eat healthy to die? What's the diet we should be having?

A lot of people I talked to around the time reported having lockjaw after getting the covid vaccine, I don't know which one they got, if I had to guess then I'd probably go with pfizer, only because It seemed to be the one people were having the most problems with. I personally didn't get vaccinated because I just didn't have anything to worry about, I live in the middle of nowhere for context. I'm not sure about the mRNA vaccines because if they mess up in the manufacturing process there can be very nasty side effects given it is mRNA that they're messing with; I feel like most of the anti vax stuff comes from not knowing how vaccines work though.

meat-based diet. mostly beef. some fruit and honey.

I went through a major health crisis in 2015-2019. the only thing that fixed it was eating beef. I don't recommend carnivore diet long-term but I did go strict beef for about a year. Now I eat beef, eggs, fruit, some rice. sometimes (but rarely) vegetables. I own a small farm and raise my own beef, eggs, berries so most of my meals come from where I live.

I tried all the diets. I always thought if I got cancer I would do a juice fast. that made things worse. the doctors didn't know what to do. basically I had nasty rashes all over my body, crazy fatigue, and crippling anxiety. I lost a bunch of weight... started losing teeth. it was insane. I have none of that now. healing through food is real and it's possible and we are meant to do it. there are unfortunately too many lies about food (high cholesterol, etc).

I hope that helps someone here.

I'm sure the doctors would have already thought of it, but that kind of sounds like scurvy or massive iron deficiency. Sounds rough either way, so I'm glad it's better now. But that doesn't say anything about it being more effective than vaccines for dealing with an infectious disease.

Got COVID twice that I know for sure, stopped testing when the strains got weak enough to not care as much. First time took me by complete surprise, was Ill for about a week, not life threatening in my case, but had I not been vaccinated it probably would have been worse or lasted longer.

My opinion on the matter is this
1. Vaccines work and prevent millions of deaths per year, we have 150 years of medical research to back that up.

2. COVID vaccines helped keep people out of hospitals at a time when they were overwhelmed and literally having to treat people in carparks. The vaccines were safe and were tested, it wasn't an experiment. I wouldn't be surprised if next time the world has a big health scare, vaccines are created even quicker, because science works like that, especially when the politicians put the paperwork at the top of the pile Instead of the bottom, it's amazing how quickly something gets done when you don't have 3 years of other work to do first.

3. You wearing a mask was never about your own health, it was about the people you came in contact with. Wearing a mask when you're Ill lowers the likelihood of your breath getting other people sick. If you don't believe in masks, next time you need an operation, force the surgeon to not wear a mask and not wash their hands, see how likely you are to survive, it took us a thousand years of cutting people open to figure that out that breathing on people is enough to kill them.

Vaccines are the main reason almost everyone is alive today, without them up to 10% of us would have died during birth or shortly after, with around 18% not making it to 5 years old. Worse in poorer families.
To not like one vaccine because some idiots were spreading lies on social media (almost all "information" on social is a lie designed to sell you something) is just stupid and if that opinion offends you, good.

Thank you. yeah, glad to be better.

being healthy is better than a getting a vaccine, or gene-therapy injection. it's no conspiracy that people with severe comorbidities were primarily the ones dying with covid while there was essentially very little risk for everyone else.

we are subject to bad pathogens everyday but a healthy body more-or-less just deals with it. if you maintain a healthy body, and you're exposed to something, you're more likely to overcome it. if you're "at risk" you can do what you need to do to keep yourself safe.

your poor health decisions leading up to this point is not my or my family's responsibility. and asking a generation of young children (and everyone else) to submit to these ineffective and disastrous mandates is extremely arrogant, selfish, and entitled.

If you adjusted for age (some states have older populations than others), there didn't seem to be any difference in health outcomes between states that locked down and states that didn't, or states that forced masks on people and states that didn't

remember the pandemic? neither do I: largely empty hospitals and hospital ships, bored hospital staff making cringy dance routines for TikTok, just 15 days to slow the spread, flu deaths dropped to basically zero, just 15 more days, just 15 more days...

regarding the jab being safe and effective: check it out. from the completely unbiased and totally fair NPR: https://www.npr.org/sections/health...nes-hurt-by-placebo-recipients-getting-immuni
...everybody else who had the placebo shot went ahead and got the actual vaccine. So now Fierro has essentially no comparison group left for the ongoing study.

"It's a loss from a scientific standpoint, but given the circumstances I think it's the right thing to do," he says.

just to be clear, the final FDA authorization and approval for the "vaccines" were based on the outcome of these trials. the control group was intentionally lost because it was "the right thing to do" after all. so there was no way to measure the efficacy, effectiveness or safety of the "vaccines".

but I'm not sure what was most disturbing out of all of it, the people who are still delusional? maybe that's not fair; much of the truth has been memory-holed over the years, and was heavily censored at the time. maybe it was the new trend that happened after the jab rolled out, and the crazy number of young healthy people who "died suddenly", a trend that was nearly non-existent before.

Statistically you are more likely to die suddenly of an unknown cause in the next 24 hours than you are of winning the jackpot in the national lottery, but everyone thinks they might do it.
