I received a corrupted NOR PS5 and went ahead flash known good NOR dump from another same EDM020 board and worked.
And I noticed I could manually change the MAC(LAN) address to match the original NOR dump, if I mod the mac from 0x1C4020 and flash on PS5, it would do 3beeps and not turning on. Other than LAN cable MAC, SKU, board ID and SN are all able to manually match back to OG NOR dump
Maybe there is another way to modify LAN MAC address?
At 0x001C403E are 2B. It could be some kind of check sum for the LAN MAC (my guess)
If you transfer this two (3E and 3F) with the MAC,, does the PS5 still refuse to boot?

This tool also can only read it but not update it.

So my guess is that they too haven't figured that out yet.

Just like Sony links the BD drive device, I would not be surprised that they did something similar with generating a MAC address based on the board ID.
Console service tool can read but can't save Mac address change even you overwrite it(won't change). I might give a try the wee tool pro someday.

I will give a try.
UPDATE:
Yes, if transfer 1C403E and 1C403F together with MAC address, the board can now boot up with OG MAC, puzzle solved Thank you!

@stetofix I'm trying to rebuild the firmware on an EDM 020. What exactly do I need to put in 1C403E and 1C403F? My Mac LAN is this: 50-B0-3B-8C-44-F7. Do I need to copy it exactly? This will change the file size. Please help me :-)

Thanks for your reply. What value should I overwrite it with? The one from the original dump? What if those 2 bytes in the original dump are corrupted and missing?
From original dump, If you have correct MAC value on 1c4020, the checksum values on 1c403E and 1c403F should be there.

Thank you very much, my question was precisely if this data was damaged in the original dump, it would be practically impossible to rebuild the bios, therefore the console would remain unusable

Possible but not likely if 6bytes MAC address value in tact, only 2 byte data corruption is rare.
FYI you dont lose anything by flashing rebuilt (maybe not working) BIOS onto the board.
