Whoa, this is awesome! I think this port would really benefit from an optional CRT / scanline filter, due to the fact how pixelated the graphics look, even a simple one would help, like this one from UltraHDMI (screenshot from a RetroRGB article)

The devs are working on porting mk64HD as an addon, that will fix the pixelated images and text.

Awesome port! for anyone here that wants to use custom textures READ!

(1) you will need the latest nightly build! DO NOT USE THIS BUILD! Alfredo Alfa 0.9.9.1 IT WILL NOT WORK!!!!!

you will need this Nightly Build
https://nightly.link/HarbourMasters/SpaghettiKart/workflows/main/main/Spaghettify-switch.zip

after downloading/extracting set your Mario Kart 64.z64 rom inside the spaghetti-windows folder and run Spaghettify it will ask you to Generate the O2r file click yes then click your rom and it will do its thing !

after its don copy the (spaghetti.o2r and mk64.o2r) to a new folder you can call this folder Spaghettifyt or whatever you wanna call it just make sure the nro is the same name as your folder like so Spaghettifyt/Spaghettifyt.nro I named mine MarioKart64/MarioKart64.nro

(2 ) Next you ONLY need the switch NRO file from this download nothing else! set the nro in Spaghettifyt or the folder you just named!

https://nightly.link/HarbourMasters/SpaghettiKart/workflows/main/main/Spaghettify-switch.zip

now with in the Spaghettifyt folder or the name you pick you should have 3 files ( spaghetti.o2r mk64.o2r and Spaghettifyt.nro inside the folder you Named

(3 ) For Textures READ IT ALL !!

Get your Textures here https://github.com/GhostlyDark/MK64-Reloaded-SK/archive/refs/heads/master.zip

NOTE you need to make the Textures into a .O2R file for mods to work with this build you can use this tool to make! It's simple to use chose your system in the releases mine is windows so that what i will use!

after downloading/extracting https://github.com/HarbourMasters/retro/releases

open the retro_0.2.0_windows and run retro after that click on create OTR/O2R then click custom then select your directory make sure the directory leads to
MK64-Reloaded-SK-master\MK64 Reloaded (SK) then hit Stage Files then hit the Green Bar at the bottom to Finalize OTR/O2R then click Generate OTR/O2R this will bring a pop up for you to choose where to save your file! after that it will start converting those png! when its done it will make a generated.o2r file that you will need to rename to MK64 Reloaded.o2r then set that file with in the mods folder like so my folder is called MarioKart64/mods /MK64 Reloaded.o2r and that's it everything should work!

HD Textures LOOK so Good!!!

Have to disagree. To me it makes it all look like a cheap ripoff of the original game. I feel the same about stuff like Ship of Harkinian. I prefer the original textures, not everything looking so sharp and "perfect". It makes old games looks worse, imo.

Try this one:

Once you drop the folders into the switch directory you will find it in the HBmenu list. If you want it on your desktop home screen , you will need a "forwarder."

I've been dreaming of rogue squadron since star fox was ported with updated textures. I finally installed Linux and android on my switch for just this, wind waker and twilight princess. Rogue squadron 2 and 3 I was hopeful for playing, but I'm going to have to tweak it more than just overclocking. Harbor masters in awesome for all their work!

Is SpaghettiKart running stable for you guys on Switch? I’ve been getting quite a few crashes, especially during cups — usually after the 3rd or 4th race. I found this GitHub issue that seems to describe the same problem: https://github.com/HarbourMasters/SpaghettiKart/issues/462 Looks like there’s no fix yet, but I’m wondering if anyone here has found a workaround or more info?
