It seems like the Paprium game for Megadrive/Genesis is now playable via Retroarch emulation, but only on PC. Just dropping the info here so that if a talented coder would want to try porting/compiling it for the Retroarch Wii Genesis Plus GX core or maybe even integrate it to the standalone app. That would be so awesome playing it on the good old Wii!

Nope, considering the mess that this game was in all aspects, and not excluding, its copy protection methods, to make it work, this dump would need to be reformated as a Sega CD ISO or the like considering its fricking music files are only dumped on mp3 and are not in the main 8MB Rom, the modified GenPlusGX core available to boot it up will not have its info patched to its wii counterparts, standalone or RA Wii, unless again, someone makes a super hack of the game.

And people thought Battlestar Galactica was heavy fiction laced with some smoking...

FinalBurnNeo has added support for it, if you want to check.

afaik Final Burn Neo doesn't fit on Wii's RAM.
You totally can by not including all drivers (or you can backport specific changes to FBA if you feel experimental), should be obvious as that is what you can do with other known arcade cores. I used old custom builds years ago.

also, there's an experimental branch on a fork of Genesis Plus GX Libretro which allows Paprium to be playable, but i really haven't tried it.
In case you're interested:
https://github.com/MAVProxyUser/Genesis-Plus-GX/tree/LittleManProject ; https://github.com/libretro/Genesis-Plus-GX/pull/378

I'm not interested in replaying it, I already finished the game two weeks ago 100% with all paths and characters alternating between Android and PC. It is a so-so game, Streets of Rage 2 and Final Fight are miles ahead in quality and music.

Now, if whoever reads this has a Mega Everdrive Pro and is really desperate to play it, mapper support is just out of the oven and you can play it on original hardware. Make sure to set the save size first to 4KB.

You may want to check this new repo, it adds pap support: https://github.com/pav1388/Genesis-Plus-GX-PUNCHiUM

I think more is on the way, they also have PSP builds. Check this entire thread on emu-land: https://www.emu-land.net/forum/index.php?topic=77919.420#new

There's more in older pages, like on page 11 etc.

Awesome, i'll definitively check it out. I was planning to add the modified source code to upstream (non-Libretro) repo of Genesis Plus GX in my fork but this is great.

can't find a wii version, can you help me please? want to play paprium, i already have game files
Yeah the rest of the members have only shared updates to the 3DS and Vita versions.

From what I've gathered on this site, people are less interested in actually giving the *exact* thing you want, with simple download+drag&drop access, and more interested in sending you off to a coder's site like GitHub or BitBucket where you have to figure it out for yourself. I wonder why people act this way?

From what I can tell, no, there is no Wii update to Genesis Plus GX to play Paprium. (Though I'd love to be proven wrong)
Really hoping some hero will come along and update the Wii version already. The last commit to the project was in 2022.

You don't have to ask me, I tried, but I couldn't set up the build environment
i could help you with the needed toolchain, libraries and other devkitPPC/libOGC stuff to compile libretro cores for the Wii.
if you want, i'll PM you with the info and needed files and tools.

btw, a small warning: the libretro fork of Genesis Plus GX is currently broken on Wii since time ago, but that doesn't happen in the main eke-eke branch when compiling the libretro core from this last one, which works fine.
