river rose in 45 minutes, and it took about 4 hours for the final warning to come out. Good thing we didn't cut the people's jobs who were to watch the weather or something. (sarcasm. Elon and Trump did. And everyone warned that something like this would happen.)
Edit:
Also apparently Texas officials are blaming the National Weather Service.
Cool, so we're going to do the same thing to the National Weather Service like School Education. Make them have poor performance to justify more cuts, which leads to even worse performance.

Surely Elon will provide that service to you if you ask him nicely.

Trying to blame Trump and Musk for flooding is just pathetic.
If I would take all your money so you couldn't feed your family and yourself any longer and gave it all to a friend of mine who happens to be a billionaire would you also tell everyone that blaming me for this is "just pathetic"?

Just wondering how you think politics work. Actions (in this case budget cuts) have consequences and it's not like especially Trump hasn't been warned about it: https://www.msn.com/en-us/politics/...lead-to-deaths-weeks-before-flood/ar-AA1I32Pu

In the weeks leading up to the devastating floods in Texas, five former directors of the National Weather Service sent a letter to U.S. President Donald Trump warning that continued cuts to the budget would result in the deaths of people.

Honestly, sometimes I ask myself what's wrong with you. Diaper Donny and his party of traitors decide to not give a fuck about warnings from experts and now you can see before your own eyes that this was probably a very bad idea ... and still you are putting yourself up like a meat-shield in front of your beloved completely senile, vile, diaper shitting and catheter wearing piece of human garbage wanna-be dictator while making yourself look like a complete idiot that doesn't even understand the basic concept of actions and consequences ... seriously what is wrong with you?

Wait until people will start dying due to the Medicaid cuts. It will not be beautiful ... totally not. And I'm sure you will still come up with some stupid-ass comment that you cannot blame the holy leader and his party of sycophants. Seriously, you are so lost ...

I don't blame on both for flooding in Texas and I don't find this situation to be funny at all.

It is horrible disaster and my prayers sent to girls who lost their life and their families. It is very hard for parents to deal with lost the children.

Even if warning system is working, it may not enough to prevent this situation, especially if weather is unpredictable and quick.

Ah, alright. Thanks for admitting that you are weak and have no arguments. Just like your leader ...
I thought he is from Ireland.

It's also false that there wasn't warnings either.

I'm talking about countywide warning when flooding gets closer and they thought it was ordinary flooding but ended up as catastrophic flooding.

I don't say about federal warning under NWS but rather local warning that is issued by countywide when sheriff or county official saw the event in specific area.

Don't forget - the US is very massive country and if happens in specific area, warning would be more local. Like Noem said, it is unpredictable as I mentioned above.

There is no need to politicalize the tragic event.

The county has been trying to get a bill passed for flood sirens and etc for sudden disasters like this but they don't make it through. This must be especially frustrating since the sirens themselves aren't relatively expensive, but when you keep voting Ted Cruz types in, you can't be surprised at the consequences when you have neither the tools or adequate staffing. Those poor kids though.

Also worth noting that this Election Wizard X user is a known Qanon believer so not only are they a non credible source, it's also not surprising who it was who posted their tweets here.

FAA has their staff reduced to a skeleton crew because of DOGE, and planes start crashing. Don't blame trump!!!!!

National Weather Service gets gutted by DOGE, and people die in floods which could have been prevented. DON'T BLAME TRUMP!!!!

Meanwhile, this is yet another extreme weather example which is being ignored, and worse, exacerbated by terrible policies.

Cause and effect in its simplest form, and yet people double down on being wrong. Pitiful.

It's also false that there wasn't warnings either.

Yeah, that is false, you're correct. Well done.

... I mean, I don't see anyone here claiming that there were no warnings. The very first post references one of the warnings. I assume the guy you're quoting on Twitter was referencing something else, and you just backported it to here in the hopes it'd be relevant.

I wonder if it's possible for there to be slightly more nuance than "there were warnings" and "there were no warnings", though. Like, is the bar for success really just "they gave a warning"? Congratulations if so, but maybe the accuracy and timing of the warnings also matters.

They could have cut it down to one guy with a megaphone and this Wizard chap would still be able to accurately say "but there was a warning!". There's another strawman if you want another to obliterate, it's not quite that bad. But I do have to agree with Kristi Noem that someone should probably look into if the warnings could have been improved.

Haha, honestly: I don't know. If he is that would just make him even more despicable and pathetic in my eyes. He would almost be like the equivalent of Polish people living in Germany and voting for PIS party at home, or Turkish people living in Europe giving their vote to Erdogan and his AKP, or Russians that live in a free democratic country and vote for Putin. It would be all big mouth and barely any personal consequences for him.

He's still a cult member of 47 no matter where he lives. You could say he's p47hetic ... just like his cult leader:rofl2:

Oh yeah, of course, all Shy Guy are cult members, lol.

They made it harder to respond and prepare to these kinds of disasters in time. the firing of 40% of employees from NOAA and NWS, plus screwing with FEMA.

It's also false that there wasn't warnings either.
??? I never even said that lmao.

Warnings were issued using the same criteria as always. Dont you have a baby yoda to pray to?

I don't agree with the op's conclusion.
That is: yes, the weather forecast is butchered. Already was in Trump's first time (Lewis' "the fifth risk" goes into a lot of detail there). Most likely more since doge's plundering.
But your report paints a different picture:

“When it rains, water doesn’t soak into the soil,” said Austin Dickson, CEO of the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country, which was collecting donations. “It rushes down the hill.”
...
The weekend forecast had called for rain, with a flood watch upgraded to a warning overnight Friday for at least 30,000 people.

If you think this would've been preventable... I disagree. I've seen a time lapse of the flooding as I couldn't believe it: 7 meters in less than an hour is INSANE. But even so: the area was already known for flash floods. Residents should've known it could get messy. Those camping girl scouts should've known better than setting up camp there.

It's a tragedy, yes... But not something you can pin on the current government.

Edit: if my local (Flemish) newspaper's worth anything, then the reason there's no alarm signal in the valley (despite numerous loods) is because local people rejected it. Remember: Trump is an outcome, not a cause. There's just too many shortsighted people in the US.

Just remember, if a freak accident ever happens to you or your loved ones, terminally online people will use your tragedy to "dunk on" politicians they don't like! They won't even wait until your corpse is cold!

I know what question all of you are asking your self, and that question is, will these floods cause Nintendo, Sony or Microsoft to raise prices?

But you must believe it was Biden's fault because Trump says so, right?
