After almost two months since the Resident Evil fan film "Resurrection: A Biohazard Story" started its crowdfunding on Indiegogo, the film has finally met its goal and completed all its funding to start production.

Back on May 1st, 2025, the people behind the Residence of Evil YouTube channel started a new crowdfunding for their new and 2nd fan film, titled "Resurrection", which will feature the original cast members of the original PlayStation release of Resident Evil reprising their roles of Chris Redfield, Barry Burton, Rebecca Chambers and Albert Wesker, after almost 30 years since the game's original release, and the one that started the whole franchise back in the 90s.

Now, thanks to the support of Resident Evil fans worldwide, the project can be greenlit and can now continue onwards with the main production.

Although there are still some post-goal stretch goals that could be achieved. There's several rankings to go through depending on the final funding amount, with the B ranking starting on 210k, and the S+ ranking being at 250k, with the S+ ranking featuring a special post-credits scene.

The team has previously worked on another fan film, based on the iconic file found in one of the Mansion's rooms titled "The Keeper's Diary: A Biohazard Story", which effectively retells the story of the game's file in a live-action setting.

If you are interested in supporting this project to achieve the stretch goals, make sure to visit the "Resurrection: A Biohazard Story" Indiegogo page and dropping a donation.

Unlike the shitty movies or the offensive Netflix adaptation. These guys deliver within their budget and possibilities and the actors seems to like what they do. Good for them. Keeper's dairy was good.
Gotta say, I was quite impressed with the Hunter CGI from The Keeper's Diary.
Really solid CGI that you don't often see in fan films at all.

Looking forward to what they do with this one, more so since they have almost all of the original RE cast back for this, except for Jill's actress, Inez Paulson.
It'd be interesting to see if they did Inez to portray her character again, even for a brief cameo, now that would be bollocks.

I only ever watched the original Resident Evil movie, but that was back around the time of its release. All I've heard is how inaccurate the Hollywood adaptations are. I'm interested to see how a fan project on this scale will turn out.

Having the original RE actors gives the project a surreal bit of authenticity.

It's good to see these fan projects being successfully funded, such as their previous project.
