Hello everyone,

I’m encountering error code 2002-3502 while playing Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! It only seems to happen during in-game trades related to shiny hunting Alolan Meowth. So far, this issue hasn’t occurred in any other part of the game.

Has anyone else run into this? Any idea what might be causing it, and why it only happens during this specific type of trade?

Setup:
EmuMCC
Version: 19.0.1 | AMS 1.8.0

Thanks in advance for any help!

Update: Reinstalling the game seems to have fixed the issue for now

I'm far from the "experienced" users around here and I yet to run into an issue (thank God). All you need is the up-to-date brain.exe and reading skills, that's it.
You're far too modest, pal. You must be a very nice person to hang with IRL. The fact is you're an experienced user, and the best part is you share generously your knowledge with inexperienced people. You kind of remind me of binkinator when he used to visit this site. You're an asset to GBAtemp, and I hope all the noobs appreciate you.

That's a really weird issue...

... but I'm glad that you managed to fix it.

Thanks, brother. Thank you for your kind opinion. ^^ I'm glad if my input can help someone out. You seem like a very nice person as well based on all of our interactions so far. ^^ binkinator was the GOAT, I've learned a lot from his old posts. I'm sad that I've missed a chance to meet him, seemed like a such a great guy.

Hi everyone. I updated my switch using the HATS pack today and while the update went fine, all my games are missing from CFW and are not found in DBI. I’m certain it was user error but I’m having trouble figuring out if they are restorable. I deleted the atmosphere, bootloader and config folders as instructed prior to copying the pack over. Didn’t do anything else after that other than upgrading the firmware but the games were missing prior. As far as I can tell they’re still on the SD (300+ GB occupied), they just aren’t identified.

Any NSP added through DBI post-upgrade installed just fine, no issues playing. I’m just missing the games from prior to then on my home screen, although they’re apparently still there in some format somewhere.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Or you deleted the Nintendo folder or you formated the console on firmware update. The only way to recover from this is to restore a backup.

Also as you used a prepackaged package and do not know what you are doing, May be You overwrite your Hekate config files and now you are booting to the wrong EmuNAND or directly to SysNAND. On this case recovering or reconfiguring you boot process may be lead you boot to correct environment.

Next time read the guides and upgrade manually your setup

Hi,

I've been away from the Switch jailbreak scene for a while but i've just bought a Switch v1 un-patched and it had 20.1.0 installed on it.

What's the best way of installing nsp files on it? as someone has told me that Tinfoil is not currently working on 20.1.0

Thanks in advance

Grab your nsp files from somewhere, install them with DBI or similar app, and don't forget to use the latest sys-patch (the sys-module) if you want to run them.

Not sure if it's any different on Mariko units, but entering maintenance mode should be similar. Maybe after you select to boot into sysNAND / OFW you should start holding both volume + and - buttons? I have no experience with units with modchip.

The link I sent you doesn't have sys-patch or sigpatches probably because they are mainly used for piracy reasons. One of things they had to settle on in order to keep the site running without N taking it down. Once you download sys-patch archive, just extract it to the root of your SD card. Whenever there are no instructions on how to install certain homebrew app or module, just check the folder structure and that should give you an idea. In sys-patch archive, one of the first things you see is the atmosphere folder which is found on root of the SD card.

Pretty much, yeah. Extract to the root of the SD card and overwrite the existing files if prompted.

There are two ways that I usually use:
  • Via Atmosphere's USB transfer app (haze.nro) - only for minor stuff like apps that don't require reboot.
  • Via Hekate's USB tools - recommended as you don't have to remove SD card from your Switch, just reboot to Hekate and select USB tools, connect your Switch to the PC and begin transfer. I usually use this whenever I'm replacing a large number of files (copying new firmware files, Hekate, Atmosphere, sys-patch and other modules) and when I need to reboot the console in order to make a change. Once done, I close the USB tools and reload Hekate and boot into Atmosphere by launching one of the options I set up in my hekate_ipl.ini.

If I understood you correctly, you don't need to redo the setup each time. When you're careful, it's hard to mess it up, trust me. I'm far from the "experienced" users around here and I yet to run into an issue (thank God). All you need is the up-to-date brain.exe and reading skills, that's it.

If you plan on using sysNAND to play legit games, you'll have to update eventually. Might as well do it now since both Atmosphere and Hekate have released support for the 20.1.0 and sys-patch works without issues.

I have an update I want to share about what’s been going on with my Switch process, but first things first, let me say this:

Thank you so SO MUCH for all of your help and patience for the past week or so with helping me through this.
As a beginner in all of this, I genuinely believed that Switch modding would be exactly the same as 3DS modding, and to an extent, it kind of is, but is still way different and slightly more confusing than I thought it’d be, so needless to say I was absolutely lost. You hear a lot about Reddit being THE best place for finding help, but searching for threads with similar issues (AND up-to-date solutions) to your own is a chore, and actually asking for help there is worse since you tend to just get a lot of unnecessary snark instead of just a simple and straightforward answer to the questions you asked from the start. It’s exhausting.

So again, thank you so much for being the first person to walk me through this for so long.
I’m learning a lot and I appreciate your help, you’re absolutely awesome for it. 👍

As for the update I mentioned, I’ve since gotten my hands on a 128GB SD card, and have formatted it to FAT32 and used the guide you provided to create a new emuMMC, as well as updated OFW, and I think this is the best that my Switch has worked since having it modded a month ago. I also followed your instructions for removing the annoying pending update nags on both sysnand and emunand.

Strangely enough, it’s the opposite of what it was before.
The update nags are totally gone on sysnand, but they refuse to go away on emunand. These update nags make it harder to boot to homebrew with the hold+ R method too, since they prevent the game from opening at all. Though, I can still boot to homebrew through album, but it’s in applet mode.

Luckily though, I can still use DBI, so I guess I’m not too worried about that…
Or is that something I should worry about, and try to fix right now?

My big question though, is since I’ve heard from others that tinfoil doesn’t work on the newest firmware/hekate update, is there a good alternative or is there a way to make tinfoil work without breaking anything?

I know about just getting NSP files and then using a USB transfer with DBI Backend or MTP responder, but oof, apparently a lot of these files are way too big for both my PC AND my external hard drives to handle, even as a zipped file.

Hello everyone,

My Switch V1 is crashing immediately with error 2002-2629 whenever a game cartridge is inserted.
I have gone through the forums and found other switch owners with the same exact error but no clear solutions found.
I have tried several ways to solve the error including:
- cleaning the game cartridge slot (to see if dirt is causing the issue)
- replacing the game cartridge slot with working ones from my other fully working Switch V1 consoles (to see if a faulty game cartridge slot is causing the issue)
- inserting the game cartridge while in stock OS/sysNAND (to see if Atmosphere in emuNAND is part of the issue)
- inserting other game cartridges (to see if the game cartridge is causing the issue)

Does anyone here have 1st hand experience to solve error 2002-2629?
(Please refrain from referencing TronicsFix forum unless you are the actual poster in that forum who has done it.)

Thank you guys!

I feel ya. To be honest, Reddit can be a tricky place to find help but it's not easy to find one here either. I see users left and right coming up with issues that I've never seen before. It's probably the same for some experienced users here as well. impeeza, Hayato213, Draxzelex, Dust2dust and many others (binkinator in the past was exceptionally knowledgeable guy, expert at troubleshooting Switch issues and probably more) managed to help solve around 80-85% (the real percentage might be even less than that, though) issues that users had. The rest of them were either some really weird cases, totally new stuff and some even found a solution on their own and never replied back what solved the issue for them. It's not easy to keep track of everything.

In my early days of Switch hacking, I was researching about dual booting SXOS and Atmosphere on the same Switch, mainy to reap the benefits of the XCI USB loading feature SXOS had and Atmosphere will probably never have due to the copyright reasons. While I partially found the solutions here on GBAtemp to the problems I run into on my Switch setup, the missing bits and pieces I've found on Reddit thanks to the help of one guy in the SXOS subreddit. I still have my notes should I ever feel like going back to that in the future.

The point is: Finding the right solution takes time, experience and knowledge. You're likely to run into issues the more stuff you download to your CFW setup and the more you stray from the well-established path all those guides created for the users.

So again, thank you so much for being the first person to walk me through this for so long.

If you can't get into maintenance mode (which is weird) you can try to remove the firmware update nag with either Goldleaf or DBI, now that I think about it. There should be an option somewhere. Anyway, maintenance mode worked perfectly fine for me a few times I had to use it to clear system cache when my old SD card was dying on me.

My big question though, is since I’ve heard from others that tinfoil doesn’t work on the newest firmware/hekate update, is there a good alternative or is there a way to make tinfoil work without breaking anything?
I've never used Tinfoil to be honest. Since day one I've used DBI and never had a problem with it. As for the game files, there are a couple of trustworthy websites that I use from time to time and I always check the game files with NxFileViwer to see if they are original, modified or corrupted. As I said, yet to run into an issue... Well, I did run into a few of them but they were related to the base game being incomplete on launch requiring a day one patch to work at all. Another time was that the base game dump said that it was on version 1.0.1 but, for some reason, it required a 1.0.1 update as well installed separately.

I know about just getting NSP files and then using a USB transfer with DBI Backend or MTP responder, but oof, apparently a lot of these files are way too big for both my PC AND my external hard drives to handle, even as a zipped file.
Okay... they are big, but... how big exactly? True, the largest game I have on my Switch is probably ToTK or BoTW so I'm not sure what you're trying to say. Downloading games from a Tinfoil shop is definitely more convenient, but I personally don't feel like leaving my Switch connected to the Internet to download stuff, I have a PC for that. :D And some space to download those files to, yes.

I did it successfully with no problems, so I don’t need more help! (:

Main question of this paragraph is the following: Can I update (NEVERMIND! 🎉 I DID IT SUCCESSFULLY!) and transfer my Switch data to the Switch 2 while on the original (Pre hacking) console menu without getting bricked by Nintendo?

I want to transfer my Switch data to my Switch 2 BUT I am NOT on my Emummc, instead I am on the original console menu (Pre hacking). I think I still have some “hacked” files on my sd card and due to the more strict and new user agreements from Nintendo I am scared to update my Switch (Again, NEVERMIND! 🎉 I DID IT SUCCESSFULLY!) and then transfer the data to the Switch 2 since maybe they’ll flag the files and brick my Switch 2, I connect to the internet just fine though, I haven’t gotten banned.

I can’t access the Emummc because when I try to load it from Hekate it gives me an error, I looked for the error code online and tried all the solutions but I still couldn’t access the Emummc, mind you I tried this about 6 months ago in December so it has been some time. The reason why I’m telling you this is because I would rather use a specifically made Homebrew software to transfer it to the Switch 2. The reason why it broke is probably because I decided to update the console on the Emummc and then it reset and sent me back then I tried to load it and the error showed up.

Oh no, I can get into maintenance mode on emunand just fine.
It's just that doing it doesn't seem to get rid of the annoying notifications when I try to open any of the games, either to play or to boot homebrew while pressing Hold+R.

Remember these images I mentioned from earlier?

Thing1.jpgThing2.jpg

These are what I see in emunand when either trying to just play a game regularly or try to enter homebrew with the Hold+R method. My gut is telling me that I should probably just create another emummc with the newly up-to-date OFW (When I moved everything to the 128GB SD card and created the most recent emummc, it was before I updated OFW to V20.10.0.

What kinda tipped me off to that likely being the problem was that I was trying to use PKHex to make a few edits on Pokémon Scarlet, and I noticed all my Pokémon were still missing in emunand despite having already returned everyone into the game from Pokémon HOME already in OFW. So I think that might solve my problem, but I felt it'd be best to ask and maybe get a second opinion first before possibly doing anything rash.

EDIT: So I made a new emunand, and well…Same issue still persists, sadly. :(
So yeah, really not sure why going into maintenance mode or making a new emuMMC post-OFW update doesn’t fix it here when it solved the problem just fine in sysnand. I wonder if anyone else has had this issue before?

Maybe I could try Goldleaf once I learn more about that.

Well, when trying to download the NSP files for a game like 'Crisis Core Final Fantasy VII',
I use my PC (An HP laptop was all I could afford) and normally, it says it takes about 20-30 or so minutes to download the zip file, but then either halfway through the download or towards the very end, I'll get a 'Download canceled, file too large' / 'Not enough space' message. Even trying to download the zipped files directly onto the external hard drive gets me the 'Too big' messages.

I'll be honest, for the laptop, I can understand why it might not have enough space, as I'm a freelance digital artist and have made a TON of art over the years, with all of them stored on my PC. I've used 112 out of 119 GB, apparently (Yeah, I know, I should probably clean that up. XD )

But I can't say I understand why my 1TB external hard drive struggles to store a single zip file for just ONE game.

What exactly are the emulation limits of Switch? I just saw that PS3 emulation is done, but I wouldn't be lying if I said I had no knowledge of this subject.

I'm looking for some opinions on whether it would be more beneficial to do a full system transfer from the OG Switch to the Switch 2, or to simply rely on the cloud for my saved games and redownload games one by one?

The reason I'm asking is because I want to get more into Smash modding and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe modding on the original Switch.

I've already hacked my Switch, so I don't need any assistance with that part. I'm just trying to figure out if it's better to work with a clean slate on a wiped system, or not?

I also realized that this question would probably get more answers after the release, but I welcome any opinions or advice nonetheless. 😅

I'm pretty new to Switch modding and just getting started with the Picofly modchip scene.
I’ve been doing some research, but I still need help picking the right RP2040 board for my XKW (Mariko V2) Nintendo Switch.

I’ve narrowed it down to a few options on AliExpress, but I’m not sure which one would be best in terms of compatibility, size, and ease of install. If anyone has experience with these boards or can give me some advice, I’d really appreciate it!

Here are the ones I’m considering (search on AliExpress using the item IDs):
  • Option 1: search item ID 3256808887558965
  • Option 2: search item ID 3256808242036844
  • Option 3: search item ID 3256808935190241
If anyone has installed Picofly on a Mariko unit using one of these boards (or knows a better option), I’d love to hear your experience.

u didnt link the options so idk what they are but you want the version which has the connector to the nand chip, this way you only have to solder to the capacitors under the cpu, heres what i installed in mine:

Hello, I installed a modchip in my switch lite and also changed the digitizer. At first it was working normally, however after about 30 minutes, the screen started shaking. Does anyone know if this is caused by a bad modchip installation, or did I damage the screen, or what? I will look at all the ribbon cables in a bit, below I attached a video.
Post automatically merged: 9 minutes ago

with my mod chip disconnected, I still have the issue so I think it is my lcd, does anyone know how I can fix this or do I have to replace my screen? also can I use the screen from the v1 for testing?

Hello all I have an issue with my switch OLED (not hacked yet and without warranty), the exact issue is when the controllers are attached to the system I am able to use a Bluetooth speaker and the Wi-Fi Network, when I put the console on the base and remove one control to play wireless the Bluetooth speaker starts to lose sound starting like scratching to zero sound, and the Wi-Fi connection fails but so far when I tried to play Mario Kart online in a private match with my brother, does not happen if I play in local or mondial, if I use the console with stand mode I can play without problems online using remote joy cons but the Bluetooth issue remains until I reattached the joy con to the console, I am guessing the antennas or the module could be broken, any suggestion?
