Greetings to everyone.
I recently bought a second-hand Wii U and I have done homebrew on both the Wii U side and the vWii side. I am using 2 HDDs to run my backups, one for vWii and the other for Wii U. I have it connected through a Y cable and I have to connect one or the other depending on what I'm going to use.
I am thinking of buying a USB hub with a power supply so I can have both drives connected (I would pass the vWii one through UStealth). Is this possible, or would I have problems?
I also assume that when using a USB hub with a power supply, I should no longer use the Y cable.

Having a powered USB hub resolves like 99% of the problems people have using USB devices with the Wii and WiiU. This is probably the best thing you can do.

Now, with regards to having multiple drives connected at once - it's going to depend on the software you're using as to whether that works as expected or not. In the old days, having multiple USB drives connected at once would confuse a lot of things like homebrew/backup launchers. But I think at this point even the WiiU launcher are something like 20 years old, so they probably support things like that a bit better now.

Give it a try and see!

So I will buy the USB hub, thank you!

I suppose there wouldn't be a problem on the Wii U side, since Ustealth would make the second HDD invisible. I will have to see how USB Loader GX reacts on vWii.
However, on the other hand, this has scared me a little but I suppose it will be something strange: https://gbatemp.net/threads/did-i-brick-my-wiiu.663466/

Theres a way to put games for wii and wii u on same hdd too, search on youtube for "How to Use One HDD for Both Wii and Wii U Games – No More Switching Drives!" of the channel "Below Average Gaming"
